Local brewery offers tours, a tasting bar, home brew kits, and gallons to go.. In Short
Taking its name from historic Ballast Point on Point Loma, it began as Home Brew Mart in 1992 with the goal of teaching others how to brew quality handcrafted beer at home. In 1996 a brewery was installed in the space behind the retail store, and San Diegans have been lapping up the beers ever since. Tours are offered daily including the chance to taste current favorites like Yellowtail Pale Ale, Calico Amber Ale, Black Marlin Porter, Wahoo Wheat and Big Eye I.P.A. Half-gallon and gallon glass jugs are available for purchase.
