This is the future of gyms! – I haaaate globo gyms....american boxing is more like a small group of people pushing each other to get better...as a 1st time beginner, i appreciated the help and kindness i received from other students i worked with.
This guy below must have a screw loose..everyone I met in this gym loved it and some had been training there for years ;-?
I guess some people are just hard to please...oh well...more room for me :D
I took 1 kickboxing class here and absolutely loved the attention to technique, the intensity and personality brought by my instructor Jose and even the ominous Coach Dave :)
Again, you cant make everyone happy...I guess me and the rest are the lucky ones ;-)
Anyways, i highly recommend american kickboxing gym!
The Truth about American Boxing – Already having experience in Muay Thai, finding a gym that suited my need to progress and learn something new every class led me to American Boxing. I had been to other MMA gyms in San Diego and many of them were very franchise-based. Even though the size of the classes at AB are small, that allows Dave and Gina to focus more on the student and their technique. If you want to just give your money away for the sake of saying you're associated w/ an MMA gym, by all means go to any random gym and do it. However, if you want to be from a gym that has undeniably the best stand-up of San Diego and be proud to rep them every day, American Boxing is where you want to be!
The Best Kickboxing Gym for me! – Watching fights and fight training has always been a passion for me. Ive trained at American Boxing for just over 1 month and my skills have improved dramatically! I train the Muay Thai kickboxing and love it. Classes are fun and entertaining and my fitness is improving daily. Small classes and the coaches are always working with you to get better. Dave and Gina are great coaches, great people and Champions. I couldn't ask for better coaches. Thanks for everything. Sincerely Colton Cynn
Love...love...this gym! – I absolutely love this gym and the trainers. I went to this gym 1+ years and loved how my body was changing due to the intense workouts. I regret I couldn't keep it up as I moved out of the area. I have always been very athletic; (marathons, freediving, hiking...etc) but Muay Thai kickboxing changed my body in ways which I didn't get from my other activities. My abs became rock hard and kicks to the bag increased with strength and speed, my arms got very tone...People would comment on how good I looked! Also another perk...met my husband at this gym so this gym is special to me! :) and...hellllooo.....you'd be training with the best, a current world muay thay champion !! You can't ask for anything more...
Finally Fun Fitness...Thanks American Boxing! – I never take the time to review a business unless I have had an experience like never before. With my personal trainer, Gina, that is exactly what has happened and continues to happen. She is committed to helping me reach my goals in a no nonsense way...I love that, even if it is hard to hear some times...the truth sets us all free and I really see myself reaching my fitness goals with Gina. She has been teaching me kickboxing and pilates, both are extremely fun and challenging...i am a mother of 2. in my 40's if that helps... I highly suggest training with Gina at American Boxing. The 5th star will be posted when I reach my goal weight ;)
Results – I came in for a free Muay Thai lesson with Gina and was given a workout that left me feeling great. One class gave me the quickest results I have ever experienced. A few days after that class my whole body got toned. I have been recommending this gym to all my friend. If you want to get in shape this is the place to go.
I found the BEST Personal Trainer in San Diego! – I train with Gina at American Boxing in San Diego. Sadly enough I am in my 20's and have let myself get overweight by about 30 pounds. I was a little intimidated going into a boxing gym, but was soon at ease when I met Dave, Gina and their students...all very nice and fun people. The training is just amazing! Some days we do boxing, other workouts pilates and boxing, sometimes kickboxing and kettlebells! So I get weights and fun cardio. Oh BTW, you don't have to get hit in the face to do the boxing! Not to mention Gina is what they call a master personal trainer and a kickboxing champion...which is hard to believe from this very pretty and petite girl. I totally recommend training at American Boxing if you have fitness or weight loss goals, I've already lost 10 pounds in just a couple weeks! Good luck
American Boxing rocks! – Dave is my personal trainer at American Boxing and he's a really great trainer. He's taken my fitness levels to new levels I'd never imagined! I've also lost 10 pounds of fat and gained 10 pounds of muscle. Yes I weigh the same but my waist is 3 inches smaller and my chest and arms are way bigger. Thanks to Dave and Gina I'm actually fit for the first time since high school. I can't recommend them any higher.

Best mind body spirit workout! – I have been running my own business and missed training intensely the way I used to train. Having trained in martial arts for over 25 year, competed nationally and coached national competitors, I was looking for a serious school with physical and mental training emphasizing technique, conditioning and strategy. American kickboxing meets all this plus more. I have been training with with Dave and Gina for the past one and a half years and feel as good and better than when I had time to train 6 to 8 hours a day. The 2 main coaches Gina and Dave are very dedicated and experienced. They address each student as an individual and motivate people to reach higher and higher to find their potential. The focus on technique and conditioning give the student the foundation they need to keep progressing. If someone was to write down each and every workout as I have done they would see more than just exercising for the sake of exercising. They are teaching underlying priciples and stategy as well as giving muscle memory through repetition for the student to be able to draw from for the understanding to result in more and more automatic effective responses. The also take great care for the safety of their students through awareness and safety gear with appropriate drills for the level of the students training. There is no better work out than using your own body weight and actions to utilize and strengthen your core. The balance of strength, flexibility and agility keep us young. I should know! I am 50 and doing everything and more than I could do years ago. Train hard and polish your life!
