Ugh. PLEASE STOP SPAMMING ME! – Okay, my biggest beef is that they sold my email to a ton of wedding vendors, even though I specifically checked the box not to have that happen. Looking back, I know it was stupid to give them my email at all, but I was in wedding dress bliss shopping mode and not thinking clearly. The unsolicited emails about wedding photography, cakes, venues, all sorts of stuff, starting flooding my inbox almost instantly. I even called the San Diego David's and the main office, trying to get my info removed from their system....which they promised to do, but I have no faith that they did.
As far as the dresses, they weren't to my taste (almost all were heavily beaded princess dresses), but I could see how they'd be some people's taste. I'll just say, if you go there, DON''T give them your email info!
Stay Away!!!! – I should have done my research and read the yelp reviews before I even step in their doors! My wedding is in August. I went to try on dresses in April at David's Bridal and found 1 dress I like out of the 4. I decided to put in an order but they said I would have to buy that one I tried on off the 12ack. WTF!!!
I thought they are like other places where you try on the dress and put in an order and they make it for you. Well, they don't do that!!! I would not buy the dress I tried on b/c it was tried on by so many brides to be. It looks used...like someone wore it and returned it. The consultant said they don't sell returned dresses. She said all the dresses are new.
I pointed out the stains and she said they can offer to dry clean it for free. After an unsuccessful attempt to convince them to order me a new dress, I had no choice but take their offer of having it dry clean. They said it will be ready in 1 week.
3 weeks went by and I came by to pick up the dress. They said the dress is not ready. I have to come back next week. WTF!!! I was furious but didn't have a choice.
I came back the following week to pick it up. My intuition told to try it on again. As soon the consultant took the dress out, I was already unhappy. The dress was crinkled. I pointed it out and the consultant says it's b/c the garmet bag. WTF? Then I pointed out the stains and she says they can steam it out. WTF? It was supposed to be dry cleaned so I was expecting a clean dress.
Anyways, I tried on the dress and right away I knew that this wasn't the dress I purchased b/c it didn't feel right and it didn't fit right. I checked my receipt and the tag on the dress to make sure it was the right dress. And it was but I know it's not. There's no way I could have lost 100 lbs in 3 weeks since I tried on the dress. The waist has about 6 in' extra fabric, the front was bustled, the back has a lot of extra fabric sagging down. I know that this was not the dress I paid for.
The consultant also agree that it didn't fit right and offered to alter it. I said NO!!! This was not the dress I paid for and left it back to dry clean. I want to get a new dress. I do not want this dress altered!! She says she will check in the system to see if they have it in stock.
I waited for her in the cramp dressing room. 15 mins went by and she didn't come back. I went to look for her and saw her hiding in the shoes section. I asked her about the dress and she said they don't have any in stock nor any other store have it in stock. It's too late to order a new one. WTF!!!
I said " well, I'm not going to take home this piece of 5hit b/c this was not what I purchased." She says she will work something out with alterations. I said I have to leave and talk to my husband.
I was upset. I called back the next day and spoke to the manager...btw, her name was ANDREA! She was not empathetic nor is a good source of help. I felt like she just brushed off the problem and blame me b/c perhaps the wedding may caused me to be stressed! WTF!! She said it was loose b/c I probably lost a lot of weight. I said there's way I lost 100 lbs!!! The dress felt and looks like a size 10 and I was a size 2!!!!
She said she can only offer to alter the dress. How can I trust them after all of this? What if in 3 weeks when I come back they give me a different dress and claim that it was altered for me and said I must have gain weight or lost weight?? I asked her to escalate the problem and see if we can get this resolved. She refused to give me the number to the corporate office and refused to give me her manager's name or number. I said I'm very upset and disappointed on how she handled this and disgusted with David's Bridal!
After this experience, I don't want to give them my business. They are dishonest and I think they sabotage the dress. Please save yourself the headache and heartache and go some where else.
Worth A Look If You Want An Inexpensive Dress – I had an OK experience with this David's Bridal. But, I'm not quite like other brides. This is my second marriage and I was looking for something simple and "off the shelf." My taste is pretty plain. I can see why other brides did not feel special, it is a bit of a cattle call when it's busy and the service is not nearly as personalized as if you went to a mom and pop store. But, for my needs I found a simple dress at an affordable price which was my main goal. I purchased my shoes and other accessories elsewhere. I had the alterations done at another tailor I use a lot. So, it might be worth checking out just to get some ideas but if you want something more personal I would try other smaller bridal salons.
