Love This store. After reading some of these post on here about my favorite store that I was showing my mother in law I just had to sit down and write a review on it to tell the truth. Ive been coming here for years and even sold stuff to them and never had any problems with them. They do get crazy in the morning so I can just imagine what they go thur everyday but they handle it very well . I really got to thank them for even taking the extra time and reorganizing the toys in the back and the shoes area really helps alot. Ive gone to the mall and bought my kids 2 maybe 3 things that cost well over 50$ and come here and buy them toys they all want for way less then that. Love it and thank them very much for staying around for 14 years and hope you never go anywhere.
Rip Off Again.
I have used Once Upon a Child off and on for the past three years. I find buying there is far better than selling. The offer insultingly low prices for most things. They say they offer 50-60% of resale price but really they only offer about 40-50% at best.
Today, I called to inquire about a Sit N Stand stroller. The girl said they had one for $90. I had a tandem that they'd priced at worth $40 at a previous trip that I was willing to sell today.
I asked the girl if I brought in my stroller could it go towards the price. She said yes. So $90-$40=$50. Then she told me I would get 10% off for selling that day. $50 - 10% off =$45. We did the math together and agreed that I would come in.
After waiting 45 mins for them to look at my stroller, they rang me up. I was concerned b/c it seemed like the price was really high with tax. After I signed the receipt, I got the itemized one. They sold me the stroller at $95 not $90!
When I pointed this out, the girl said that she told me $95 and that they were planning to sell it at over $100 (proves they mark up the price). She refused to fix the difference even after I reminded her that we did the math together on the phone. She told me I could just return it!
Buy there maybe...sell there NEVER!
Horrible Customer Service.
First of all, I rated it 1 star cause I had to with this rating system.
I called this store this am to be sure they were accepting childrens clothes so I don't waste a trip (it takes an hour for me to get there). The girl informed me they were, but not onsies and pj's and to keep things in sets. I thanked her, she thanked me and we hung up. It took me 1.5 hours to get there with two young kids in 100 degree heat. I arrived 2 hours after I talked to her and a rude young boy told me that they reached their 25 person quota. I explained I had driven far and was never told of this quota when I called and said (with exhaustion as the idea of a wasted trip loomed) "please don't tell me this." The boy said "I am telling you this." I said "excuse me" clearly agitated. He said "why you given me attitude." I asked for the Manager. He pointed 5 feet away and said "she's right there." I couldn't believe the "Manager" heard this and did nothing. She didn't even look up from folding clothes. She claimed she's the one that talked to me and told me to be there by noon. I didn't recognize her voice and said she hadn't talked to me. She said that it must have been the other girl all while folding clothes and never looking at me. The girl came over and said she had told me that on the phone. I told her that I would never have driven all this way to possibly be turned away. She all but called me a liar. The "manager" still folding clothes did/said nothing. While there another woman came in to claim her $$ from her items she brought. She said "i'm number 13 and was told to come back in 2 hours." The rude little boy behind the counter told her they weren't ready and she'd have to come back. She was clearly annoyed and said "well I guess I have to come back." I guess this rude customer service is the norm for this place...unless, of course, you're spending money there. Although it was pretty dirty looking so if you do buy things I would wash them in some hot water first. So I asked the "manager:" for the franchise owners contact info and she, with a flick of her wrist, said to the girl "oh take her items." I said "no way am I leaving my things here." They must have thought I was an idiot. Like I would get a fair value for my items after this nonsense. I left and said I would certainly be writing a review and a letter to the franchise owner (i have now done both). The "manager" who had finally stopped folding her clothes said "why?" Hah! I told her because of the crappy customer service I've received and because this girl is lying and she knows it. I looked at the girl and she was behind the counter smirking. I couldn't believe this treatment. So to all of you....if you're buying clothes wash em good cause it's disgusting in there and if you're selling.....well...good luck with that. Use eBay.
question?. I want to sell my clothes here and i want to get a lot of money. I have clothes like True Religion and Juicy.. how much do u think they'll pay me? o, and i have a LOT of clothes too haha Please respond SOMEONE
