Best Vet Office In Poway. I have used Poway Animal Hospital since 1980. Both Dr Smith and Dr Shinzaki have always taken excellent care of our pets. Even in the days were Parvo normally killed a animal (per vaccine days), they were able to pull our dog through.

All of their staff are courteous, they give you informed information so that you decide the best course of treatment.

When it's that awful time to decide whether your pet is suffering too much and must be put to sleep, they give you support.

I would never go elsewhere.

WORST VET EVER!!!! DON'T TAKE A PLANT TO THIS PLACE. I would give a -10 but you are forced to give at least 1 star to warn people about this vet. This place is such a bad place to go. I know many who have been and will never return. Their office manager is a cold woman who is only interested in the money and don't even ask about cost or she will shame you for putting a price on your pet! "Dr. Shinzaki" can't even keep his record and memory straight when you try to go to another vet and get your records. When our new vet called to clarify a "strange" entry in the chart notes, he couldn't even recall the pet that he saw that morning nor could he read his own chart after he pulled it out to refer to. When they are reported to the vet board, they lie about you and try to make you out to be the bad guy. Also a common issue with them is they refuse to write a prescription so you can have it filled for less somewhere else. They force you to fill it there and pay their inflated prices. This place isn't even on the list of vets that are recommended by the local ER vet hospitals. That speaks volumes!

The best veterinary care available. I started with Poway Animal Hospital when my family moved into the Poway area in 1989 and would now never consider changing. Our family has consisted of many 4 legged members and each of the doctors here have been wonderful.

These doctors have walked us through the good and bad times in the care of our pets. Their caring, professional and informative manner have helped us make the right choices, and sometimes difficult choices, for our pets and our family. I have had the pleasure of working with all three (3) doctors and love them all.

Not only are the doctors wonderful, ALL of the staff is great. Everyone from the front office staff to the assistants and technicians in the back. This practice has some great long term employees, this tells me a lot about the practice. I know when I take my pet(s) in they will be treated with the best of care.

I highly recommend the Poway Animal Hospital to anyone who has a pet that they love!
