Tips for Pearson & Nespor Animal Hospital

My Vet moved to TX and I was scrambling to locate a Vet in the area that I could entrust my companions with. I found Dr Pearson and felt she has given personal care and sound service to the continued health of my 4 legged kidz! Thank you!

I just moved to San Marcos. I discovered bumps on my dog. They are obviously allergies. Called a couple vets to compare fees. Dr. Pearsons office was pretty cheap compared to others.

Ok, Whenever I did my research and I found that this vet came up several times as being highly recommended. The highest recommndation comming from the Human Society. Meaning that the Humane society of San Marcos goes uses Dr. Pearson as one of their primary vets. Based on this, I have taken my cats to be treated their and never once had any problems. Those of you complaining about how expensive it was, there are other options to help cover the cost of pets. For example, pet insurance. Though, because I saw that the humane society's recommendation and that to them, I was able to save several hundreds of dollars on getting my youngest fixed. To the rest of you, there is this thing called a getting a second o mentioned pinion. Also, Keep in mind that vets are human too. Humans, are notorious for making mistakes. On the side note, It is harder to become a vet then it is to become a doctor. just to let you dumb a#$' know.

I LOVE THIS VET! DONT READ HATE REVIEWS. This vet is the best i have ever gone too. The staff are amazing and helpful always, Dr. Pearson is awesome herself, I love that she gives you options and not just tell you that there is only one option and it has to be paid for oops i mean done. NO other vet can compare to there prices, they are the cheapest around and if you find cheaper they are more then happy to match prices for you. I never need and appointment and the wait is never long. I have been going to this vet for years and never ever had an issue with them, i refer all my family and friends and they all say the same thing, its cheap and the care from the staff and Dr. is great. So for all you HATERS just go back to the vet you left in the first place because you only see things how you are, not openly. So have fun paying up the A** with some other Dr. while I stay with Dr. Pearson and save money and know my animals are being well taken care of.

Worst vet ever!. My dog Marley was born without a spinal bone right behind his trachea. He did not show any signs or symptoms of the missing bone till he was over a year of age. By this time Marley was partially paralyzed. He was not able to perform simple functions such as squating to poop or pee. He would avoid eating and drinking water because of the pain. He always seemed out of energy. We decided to take Marley to Dr. Pearson by a friend reference. We did not re search any reviews because all we wanted for our family member was to get better. Dr. Pearson prescribed Marley about 6 different prescriptions of drugs, one containing steroids which she claimed "will numb his pain" also that "it will help him walk". BS. Marley was still in the same condition that he was in before we took him to Person. Not only was Marley so drugged up he couldn't keep his balance what so ever but Pearson could'nt even explain what was wrong with him even after $300 worth of x-rays. We later took Marley to a different vet. Took Marley's x-rays and right then and there the doctor pointed out his missing spinal bone. Doctor explained to our family that Marley needed surgery right away or else any sudden movement can cause his spinal disc to slip and Marley would pass away suddenly. Unfortunately a week before we were able to come up with the money before his surgery he passed away. Our family and I miss Marley dearly. I choose to write this review because not only was Dr. Pearson not able to identify a missing spinal bone in 7 clear and x-rays but she fed our family lies about having an inflamed spine. She gave us prescription to give Marley that honestly did not help him what so ever. We spent nearly a month taking Marley to this un-professional and un-experienced vet when we could have simply gone to the other pet hospital and had time to gather money for Marley's surgery. Because of the time wasted at this vet we have lost our beloved family member. The baby of the family that we had spoiled with love. I would never recommend anyone to take their pets to Dr. Pearson. Not only because I have read all of these awful, heartbreaking reviews but because my family and I also have experienced the worst with this vet.

Dr. Pearson, if you or your staff are ones who have stumbled across my review I give you all the right to call me personally on my cell phone so I can express my hate and anger towards you and your un-proffesional staff.

Be VERY VERY CAREFUL!!. Be very careful with this vet. She writes her own reviews and has negative reviews REMOVED! I have had TERRIBLE experiences here and have heard nothing but horror stories but I'm tired of writing and re-writing the reviews so please.....just ASK AROUND before you take your animal here!!

Run AWAY!!!!. puppy package a huge rip off. gave my dog a $45 drink of water. Wanted hundreds of dollers to put down a dying pet. Staff wont tell you about shot clinic for cheaper shots on TUES!!! even when you ask for the cheapest way to get shots, had to find out from a friend they offer clinic shots TUES! Friends who have had dogs fixed were shocked at lazy stitches done half hazardly. I'd never take a pet her for more than just pill for heartworm. They do price match pills but the staff is pissy about it...try to find one with more compassion! the negatives way high...most just arent lodging complains...their are ALOT of unhappy peps w this place

Pearson & Nespor Animal Hospital, San Marcos. I have never written a review before but today I felt compelled. This place is WAY TOOO expensive for what they do. It cost $234 to put my 84 yr old mother's cat down. She lives on SSI only. I'm sorry but vets like this place are the reason why animals suffer. Who can afford to take their pets to a mill like this?? AND, what a joke, some of the reviews saying this is one of the cheaper places around!! AND there IS a less expensive vet on RSF about one+ miles North on the right. He looks like he hits the bottle a little but I had a great experience with him and my dog. (and he is exceptionally less in price). I will not recomend him here to prove I am just a pissed off excustomer of Herr Doktor Pearson.

Bad Choice. Have taken my dog in twice for a skin irritation. Was charged a total of $800 for a series of "Test" both time, my dog was seen by two different vets, two of the tests were exact duplicates, all came back negative. Was given the exact same medications to give my dog each time, although it apparently didn't work the first time, sadly I trusted this vet. I lost my job, I do not have any money to treat my dog whose condition has worsened since seeing this vet! Now I can not afford to take my dog in to another vet! I am suffering, my dog is suffering and this vet has over $800 of my money for the same tests and meds, when all they had to do was read the previous treatment to see the results of the tests and meds that did not work. Instead they do the same tests and same meds. I'm not a vet, all I can do is trust them, my mistake!! Obviously I questioned the re-testing and ordering the same meds when the meds didn't work the first time, was told I needed to give my dog more of the meds, never got a reason for performing the exact same series of test.

I called another vet gave the symptoms over the phone the other vet said the first thing that he'd so was order an allergy test. I physically went back to this vet and asked why they never did an allergy test, I was told I never requested it!! And that it would be an additional $400!! I still have no idea what is wrong with my dog. Either these two vets are incompetent or scammers, either case I will not go back or ever recommend them as I am sure they couldn't care less what I do, they have my $800+ dollars for doing nothing. I have no proof even that they actual performed a test. Beware of this vet.

A lady who works with me took her dog in one time for a flea treatment, I think it was approx $65, thanks to a "complication" her dog nearly died from what they called "anxiety" from the treatment. It was shot for fleas! Of which the dog has had since a pup, from other vets when the lady lived in San Fran. This flea treatment ended up costing over $400 plus they recommended the dog stay over night at an additional cost of hundreds more!

Great Vet!!!. For over 25 years I took my pets to a more expensive vet in town and received wonderful service. But out of convenience and affordability I took my new lab pup to Dr. Pearson for all her shots and puppy check ups. The staff and Dr are wonderful. I love that I do not need an appointment and they open early. I have never had to wait long. Now we have a new family member that we paid over 2500 dollars for and I trust Pearson with all of his care! We LOVE this vet.
