Located across the road from Del Mar Racetrack, this landmark restaurant caters to racing fans and locals who congregate at the lively lounge and outdoor patio before settling in for a sumptuous surf and turf meal. The club-like ambience is enhanced with dark woods, leather booths and tables positioned close enough for conversations with nearby diners. Standout appetizers are the lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail and Maryland crab cakes, but it's the prime steaks, salad tossed tableside and loaded baked potatoes that garner raves from regulars. (The signature Green Goddess salad dressing is available for purchase to take home.) The lengthy menu includes pasta, chicken, veal ribs and seafood. For those who have room for dessert, key lime pie, Snickers cheesecake and a mile-high chocolate cake are a few of the more decadent selections.
