A popular North County chef relocates to the Gaslamp's restaurant row with a small plates menu full of local ingredients..
In Short
In the old Moose McGillycuddy's space on Fifth Ave, the Marble Room debuted in September 2008 with its own take on the ubiquitous small plates trend: Locally sourced meat, dairy and produce served in small portions meant for sharing. Dishes range from $8 for prosciutto mac 'n cheese up to $18 for the lamb chops with cucumber-onion relish, and the ever-popular slides come with carmody cheese and bacon braised onions for under $10. Most recently the Executive chef at Delicia's in posh Rancho Santa Fe, Bill Sauer's new home comes with a retro-modern styling, oversized half-circle booths and plenty of seating at the bar and on the street-side patio along Fifth Ave.

Good bar food at a great price.
We stumbled upon this restaurant while waiting for our hotel room to be ready when we were in town for a conference. It was a nice day so we sat outside. The worst part about lunch was trying to make a decision on what to order--they had a bit of everything! Portion sizes were good, prices were great for the area, and everything we ordered and that we saw delivered to other tables looked fantastic.
