Excellent experience. Every year our church takes high-school students from the San Francisco area to Mexico for about a week to build homes. This was our first year to charter a bus, and we were completely satisfied with the service of Five Star Tours. The bus was in great condition, the driver was wonderful, and everything happened on time. They are experienced in border crossings, which was essential. We will very likely use them again next year.
A good way to spend the afternoon in San Diego. Our group had a great time. We went for my 27th birthday. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. He kept us entertained as he took us from location to location. He was very approachable and answered everyone's questions with candor and interest. Had we just driven to the places ourselves we would have never known all the history shared and the places would haven't have had as much impact or interest for us.
Thanks Stefano. Everything was perfect. I sent an email to Alfonso about our experience last week. Our driver was the best I have had in all 5 years working with Five Star Tours. Thank you so much. No card necessary!
My husband, some friends of ours and I
took the city tour on thursday. We only had time for an afternoon tour, but it was worth every penny. Yvette (sorry, I'm not sure if that's spelled correctly!) was our guide and she was a RIOT!! She was totally un-self-conscious and was clearly having a great time giving the tour. She was engaging, got people laughing and of course knew her history and landmarks. She actually made it feel cool to be on this tour bus, which is not an easy feat! We missed the Beach tour, but we heard it was good too. We hopped off at Broadway on broadway and were lucky enough to find a nice and sunny terrace to end the day with a cocktail
I definitely recommend this tour as a way to familiarize yourself with the city. The ticket, and the price ($45) was worth it, especially if you have only a few time to do one tour and time in the.
All in all, I highly recommend this visit for a good introduction to your visit to San Diego
Although it is common perception in
Australia that Mexico is a dangerous place to visit we found it the opposite on our recent 1 day tour from San Diego to Ensenada. We drove all the way down to Ensenada with our most informative tour guide; Atala which really made the tour a great day.
Her knowledge of Mexico and San Diego was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble on the tour.
After looking around Ensenada and having a seafood lunch (included in tour price) at a restaurant near the fish markets on the wharf we then visited the Mardi Gras parade followed by some free time to look around and so some shopping. On our return to the border we visited Rosarito Bay where we walked through the infamous Rosarito Beach Hotel and Spa.
We the headed back to Tijuana where we had some free time in the tourist friendly main shopping strip to do some shopping and view the Caesar Hotel (where Caesar salad originated). We experienced no issues with our safety or security the whole day.
It was disappointing that this tour wasn't supported by more people as we were charged an extra fee of $50 to do a private tour - which in the end however was worth it due to Atala' s experience and non stop commentary that lasted from 8 in the morning all the way to our drop off time at the hotel at 7.30pm that night. Thanks Atala! You do your job extremely well!
I been traveling with five star for many years contracting them to take me and family to the Tijuana Airport from my home for my annual vacation to Los Cabos and I never have any problem with the service. I recently went on one of their beer tours and i must say i had an excellent time visiting 3 breweries ( ballast point, alesmith, and green flash ) and going behind the scenes at one of the breweries was very interesting and knowledgable. Also our driver was very friendly and courteous at ech brewery and I would definetly recommend this tour to any beer lover.
I went on a San Diego Beer Tour with
Five Star Tours and love it!
I cant believe I had to convince my wifey to come with me on this tour to San Diego's top breweries were we spent half a day touring America's Finest breweries. Our tour guide was Emmanuel and he was a very patient and informative guide! We left the Amtrak Train Station at 11 AM and headed to our first brewery which was the one were we did a behind the scenes tour of the brewery and then a flight of their award winning brews!
Then we headed up north to lunch at Sublime Ale House which is a great place to enjoy a burger and some craft beer. The restaurant is set up to look like an urban hangout place. Lunch was pleasant and serve fast with a nice micro brew which I had was Stone!
We then went to visit another brewery which was Lost Abbey which was great! The place was jam packed with people however we had a space to enjoy drinking our brews and touring the place. Then we went to visit two more which were situated in industrial parks however it was cool because the company and the beer was good!
We were back in Downtown San Diego by 4 PM with a little buzz action going on but a whole lot a beer. I would definitely recommend this tour for any beer lover or anyone trying to learn about the craft. love it!
I set up a party bus through San Diego Party Buses operated by Five Star Tours for my best friends 30th birthday. I had called around to 9 different companies, but after talking with Mick, I knew I had the company I wanted. We all had such a fantastic time! Jorge, the driver, was punctual and courteous. He was chivalrous as he helped each of our drunk passengers off the bus. Everyone made it home safely and we all had such a blast! I will be recommending their service to all my friends and will defintiley use them again the next time we party bus!
Combine the best beer in San Diego
County with the best tour guides and you have the only brewery tour really worth going on in the city.
I've been on this thing so many times, it's becoming something of a problem, really. I've never had a bad experience - the guides are all charming, knowledgeable, and hilarious in their own way (the last guy I had threw in a million nerdy references from LOTR to Game of Thrones - I think I was in love with him by the end, but that could have been the beer). You get to drink on the tour (something you don't get to do at *ahem* other brewery tour I won't mention here, lol). The tours do fill up fast, so make reservations or get there really, really early.
