Awful experience @ Masala San Diego. After waiting for 45 minuted to get our food, the portions we received were ridiculosly small for the price we paid - we are Italian so not use to big portions at all - and the food was just plain, nothing special.

On top of it all, when we complained about the waiting time and the pricing, the waiters tried "To bribe" us by offering us a dessert that we did not order nor wanted.

I was extremely disappointed in the entire experience at MASALA restaurant and I will not go back.

Super Fresh. I am extremely picky when it comes to high class Indian food.

I am not bothered about the ambiance or service.

Just plain fresh food.

Monsoon Group scores 100 per cent.

Please let me know where you buy your produce from.

Bombay , monsoon and Masala disappointed me. Ugly step sisters Bombay, Monsoon and Masala are waste of money. I tried Bombay for Lunch buffet and thefood was totally garbage. Did not like the rubbery nan bread and the bland food was totally tasteless,

Then I received coupon in a magazine and tried Monsoon in down town I think that is totally ignored restaurant they have high chairs so you can not tell if the restaurant has any customers or not and would make it dark like a hounted house. The food is same quality when I complained about my food the manager who had no idea what Indian food is , he just appologized and said they are making some changes and next time it will be better and said we should try their other restaurant Masala on fifth avenue. While talking to my friends I asked them about masala and my friends told me if I wanted to have good Indian food I should try Royal India in down town and others are just waste of money.

I am going to try Royal India soon and cant wait to get some good Indian food.

Superb Value. I am just amazed at what super value The Monsoon Restaurant Group offers.

I should not say this but for offering such high class restaurants in excellent locations, I would be willing to pay alot more but I do love the value for money I get.

The service needs polishing up but apart from that, I give ten out of ten.

CLASSIEST RESTAURANT IN DOWNTOWN. I was amazed that this restaurant was an Indian. At first I thought it was a high class Fine Dining Steak house or something but it was Indian. This is an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking restaurant that serves artful food. Try to get Ashley, the Executive Chef to make exotic drinks if she is free.

AWESOME INDIAN RESTAURANT. I cannot forget this incredible Indian Restaurant.

The Hyatt Regency highly recommended the Monsoon Restaurant Group oif Indian Restaurants...especially Masala Spice of India in the Gaslamp.

We were a group of eighteen people that were part of the BIOTECH convention...alll the restaurants were busy so i was worried about the food quality and service.

We were so pleasantly surprised with everything that my manager made sure that i write a great note about this very pretty restaurant.

Food was extremely fresh with excellent presentation.

Service was warm, genuine, prompt and friendly.

Decor was absolutely stunning....never seen such a beautiful restaurant.

The owner and Executive Chef Ashley made us feel so comfortable and at home.

I am coming back with my family to dine here and telling everyone.

The other Indian restaurants have a long way to go before they come even close to this chain.

Dont forget to try their drinks as well....great Indian beers and martininis.

Unforgettable dining experience at Masala on Fifth Avenue. My husband and I were recommended the Masala Restaurant on Fifth Avenue, close to the Convention Center by the Four Seasons Hotel ....so we went to celebrate our anniversary and we ordered the "Chefs Tasting.Menu".....WOW.....we were just blown away.

Good value for money...excellent menu choice....cuisine was very fresh and delicious...not to mention the service and ambiance was unforgettable.

Never seen an Indian restaurant looking so SEXY....we felt that we were in Las Vegas.

Best Indian food in Downtown San Diego. this place was awesome...and the decor was pretty good with very pleasing service..and after all this the food was very delicious ..i like this place very much and i suggest every one to try this place..but the only thing was it was one of the expensive restaurant in the Down town San Diego, but really it worth it ....

My favorite Indian restaurant. I absolutely love the food here! My boyfriend and I go here whenever we can, even last Valentine's Day when they were able to squeeze a reservation in for us even though they were pretty booked. I love the atmosphere also. The waiters are always nice and give good suggestions. The best is the buffet they offer once in a while because you can try lots :) If you like food, you'll like this place. yum, I wish I were going there tonight.

Nice decor, ok service - food terrible. You know you are in trouble when you order a Chapati Chaat appetizer and you get undercook potatoes in a cold yogurt with some raw spices mixed in. Further, the chapati Chaat does not have chapati!! Apparently the this is chef being creative... if you please.

Muligatawny is afairly simple concept - Muliga means chili and Tawny means water. A good Muligatawny (rasam as it is called in south India) is almost a clear soup. It is hot and spicy, a little sour and typical drunk piping hot. Muligatawny before a good Indian meal is like practicing your scales before a mucal perforamnce - you traverse the range of spices and exercise taste buds that may or may not be brought to play during the meal. Alas, Masala's muligatawny is had the consistency and clarity of a brown salsa and thick with half crushed coriander seeds and other such abominations. One teaspoon was all I could endure

The 2 other dishes were unimaginative and unremarkable that I hae actually forgotten what they were.
