Alright for something quick. I only stopped in here once and it wasn't too bad. Nothing spectacular, but I had a quick snack and was on my way. The place seemed quaint and probably had some loyal customers who hang out there a lot. Thats what the place seemed like. A cozy little cafe.

I would probably stop and get a quick breakfast here again.

Good Breakfast Place. This is a great neighborhood breakfast place, if you are willing to wait 30-45 minutes to get in. These guys are always busy.

They are famous for their Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast. This is a definite must have, but probably only once. I suggest you share it with someone - That much peanut butter in one huge plate might overwhelm you. It is delicious though.

There are plenty of other great items on the menu. You have to eat here at least once. I am sure you will be back for more.

Best tamale breakfast ever. Everytime I go to San Diego I make my way to Cafe 222 for breakfast. I love the tamale breakfast, the atmosphere is great too. It is a small quaint cafe on the corner of some condo's.

friendly place. Lots of variety on the breakfast menu. Loved the beef tamale, wasn't crazy about the peanut butter waffle. I love pb, so had high hopes, but texture was doughy and flavor wasn't strong. Disappointed that I never got offered more coffee despite sitting at the small counter. Overall, cute place, would try again.

best breakfast in san diego. i was tempted to get the pumpkin pancakes, but i played it safe and had the mexican omlete (i believe) instead. i was with a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The cafe only sat about 40 some people so it was relatively small. Definitely worth the visit again!

go and go now. one of the great places to eat breakfast in downtown. if you go try the eggs benedict. you will not be disappointed. if you feel daring try the tamale special, very suprising. the wait is always 30-45 min but it is always worth it. there is no bad time to show. there will always be a wait, and they don't take reservations but it is worth the wait.

Casual downtown breakfast spot keeps crowds coming with creative American menu items.. In Short
This friendly café's classic breakfast fare and fun, industrial-style décor draws locals, tourists and business people alike. Owner Terryl Gavre knows food--she writes restaurant reviews, teaches cooking classes, and regularly appears on local tv stations. House specialties include low fat pumpkin waffles, famous orange-pecan pancakes, and peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast. On weekdays there's a light lunch menu of paninis, soups and salads.
