Excellent and Delicious!. Excellent and delicious meal served in a nice relaxing fancy place. With professional servers who are nice friendly, quick, efficient and they are respectful and gracious!! Keep up the good work!!
Excellent for Lunch!!. Awesome Persian food. We had lunch at Bandar the other day and were sooo happy with everything! Great food, service, ambiance. We'll be back.
A True Culinary Institution. Lets get real here. It is no secret that 99% of these negative comments are posted by jealous competitors. Bandar restaurant is truly famous in San Diego for their chicken shish kabobs (and other items). They have literally won hundreds of awards from local magazines and restaurant critics for both their food and their service. Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant, the food and service are excellent, the prices are reasonable and the quantities are generous. What more could you want? As for the negative reviewers, why don't you spend your time improving your business and stop wasting time trying to damage a true culinary institution.
They serve HUGE portions. "What a great restaurant! The service, ambiance and food was excellent. Just a head's up they give you HUGE portions, so hope you have a big appetite or it would be great to share an entree. I had the famous chicken kabob and it was the most delicious, moist, flavorful chicken I ever had. How'd they do that? I will definitely return with family and friends. Thanks!"
The Best Place for Group Lunches!!.
"We had a resservation for 4, called 5 more friends and all 9 of us sat outside at Bandar!
It was awesome! 3 of our friends were just visiting San Diego. Everyone had a wonderful meal. The portions were huge. The service was fabulous. All in all A++++"
They served us stale beef. I will surely never eat here again, nor do I recommend it to anyone else. I went because of good reviews from a magazine in my hotel room. If you've seen this magazine, do not believe it. Believe most of the ratings you see here on this website. That article must have been written a while ago and maybe when this restaurant was under previous management. The food really was tasteless and my wife and I were sold filet mignon that tasted really old and overcooked; and it was supposed to be cooked medium. Our waiter barely spoke English and it took about 15 mins just to get our order correct. We felt really ripped off because the meal was pricey. I can't remember the last time I felt that way at a restaurant. Don't know about Persian food, but if you like Spanish food, I highly recommend Sevilla also located on fourth street. The ambiance there is outstanding as well.
YUM!. The Adas Polo is to die for. The mixture of flavors are a perfect combination.
Best Persian Restaurant in San Diego.
I looooove Bandar's chicken kabab and green salad. My husband can't get enough of the lamb shank mixed with the hummus avocado...we could eat it everyday!
The staff service is also always very friendly and dressed nicely.
Reply to sandiegosun. Thank you for your review, but we do not believe your judgement is fair. Bandar has been awarded Best Ethnic & Persian Cuisine 1996-2008. We have a classic historical design & in regards to the article in the back of our menu, for us it is very valuable because it is our story and it never gets old.
Times Have Changed But Not At Bandar.
Extremely disappointing experience dining at Bandar. The service staff have ghost like attitude and never write anything down adding insult to injury. The food lacks care and has steam table qualities shouting from it.
It is apparent from the pricing of both dinner and wine list menus that rent is very high at their location. Some how the restaurant feels its customers have to pay its high rent and get none in return.
The place looks tired and on its last limb. An old article in the menu is a perfect example that Bandar remains in the past.
This was restaurant week in San Diego. When are you going to step it up?
