Awesome!. This place is great! I was visiting San Diego for business and found this place on CitySearch. Thought it sounded interesting. The food was excellent and the drinks were even better! Try the Hawthorn's martini! The bartender chatted me up the whole time and the wait staff was also very fun. I was impressed. Worth a try!

Great new hot spot in N Park. I really like this new place. I have been a couple of times. The first time we went for happy hour. They have like 15 or 20 different signature drinks. They were big and filled with liquor and very reasonable priced. We just had appetizers in the bar that time. The bartenders were awsome, friendly and pretty easy on the eyes.

I like it so much, I went back for dinner. Great place to take a date. Great atmosphere. The servers were informative and personable. I really enjoyed myself.

I heard it turns into a lounge bar thing after dinner. I definitely will check that out. It is like the New Hot Spot In North Park. It's about time.

Wonderfully complete dining experience. I just returned from Sunday brunch at Hawthorn's on University in North Park. We were promptly seated in the restaurant's beautiful dining room which features floor to ceiling windows - perfect for watching all the North Park action. The service was excellent. We were excellently hosted. Our server brought me warm, flaky crossaints and then my spinach omelette with potatoes and fresh fruit. It was fantastic. The ambience in the restaurant is fun with the old theater doors opening to the dining room. I loved my brunch experience at Hawthorn's and look forward to returning. Definitely a lucky paw up for Hawthorn's and the great dining experience they are serving up in NoPa!

Editorial Review by Corliss Lee. Contemporary fine dining offers American cuisine paired with a selection of wine.

great food, wine selection and service. Bottom line, great restaurant. The food, the manager and the ambience - all great!

Have the crab/salmon cakes -YUMMY! and the Filet Mignon of course! Wow, my palate was in heaven, not to mention the wine they suggested went perfect with the meal!! I will be back next time I'm in S.D. Citysearch, 2 for 2 of the S.D restaurants you helped me pick - nice job!
