Great place, great food, great service...
by mikapeace at Citysearch
I used to go to Mimmo's for subs when I worked downtown, and to be honest, it has been years and years, long before they started to open for dinner. I had just come from a very bad experience with Italian food in Thousand Oaks, and needed an upgrade. I absolutely picked the best place. We picked the place last minute, they were incredibly accomodating. The wine was excellent, the appetizer pizza was OK, but the entree was excellent. Service was great, my only complaint was the guy behind me obviously trying too hard to impress his date and bragging loud enough to drown out the conversation at the other three tables in the alcove.
Not Up To Little Italy Expectations
by Robert1019 at Citysearch
The lobster ravioli was just OK. The spicy shrimp linguine was cooked until it was goo. The lobster bisque was very good. Service was painfully slow. With all the good restaurants around in Little Italy it is a shame that Mimmo's Italian Village, with all it's decorative charm and ambiance, lacks quality food and service.
- Pros: Nice interior and easy for conversation
- Cons: food and service not up to par
Excellent Linguini Pomodoro!
by asleepatwork at Citysearch
The pomodoro sauce is very, very, tasty and the whole table was dipping their bread into my pasta bowl. This restaurant is very reasonable, as I paid $10 for the best linguini pomodora I have ever had. The sauce carries a bit of a kick to it, but it is not as spicy as an arrabiata. Service is sketchy, but the price and taste of the food make up for it.
- Pros: Flavorful sauces, reasonable prices, nice ambience
- Cons: Slow service
