Great Bar. if you like your cocktail done right - this place keeps it real. But I noticed from friends reactions, sometimes people don't want real cocktails, they want big cheap cocktails...

anyway, the bartenders here are great and provide quality for the price. there's a good jukebox. and often they have interesting live music and/or DJs. weekdays are usually pretty mellow, but it gets pretty packed with the hipster crowd for the weekend - but always a good time.

Formerly the seedy Hong Kong Nightclub, this hole in the wall bar with a neon sign marking the entrance is the type of place serious drinkers seek out when they're tired of cover charges, tourists and the Gaslamp club scene. The liquor is potent and well-priced, and the décor consists of a mix of vintage (leather booths, a jukebox) and saloon-style, Old West watering hole details. Trust us, the random, indie-hip patrons and the schizophrenic decor will make much more sense after a few drinks.
