Neighborhood watering hole offers killer drinks and one of the best jukeboxes in town. – In Short
After catching a glimpse of the blood red walls, faux stone backdrop behind the bar and the display of retro ava lamps, it's hard to imagine this locals' favorite was once called The Boardroom. Taking its name from The Runaways' catchy song, this dungeon-like tavern, tucked between a Mexican restaurant and a laundromat, has a pool table in the center, a video machine with classic arcade games, and a jukebox that pumps out a raucous mix of heavy metal, hard rock, punk and alternative hits. Saturday nights draw a party crowd when local bands show up to rock the house.
Strong drinks and friendly people – This place sits next to a laundry mat. I found it when going to do laundry and the sign just reeked of dive bar.
Being new to the neighborhood I found that this place quickly became an old standard. The bartenders are friendly, the owner is a cool guy, the drinks are reasonably priced, strong and delicious. The patrons are personable, I have never seen a fight there.
It has a bit of a heavy metal theme (red on black interior) and a bunch of heavy metal music on the juke box, not my genera but what the heck, it's always good to expand your horizions.
Hope to see you there.
I recomend this place to anyone.
