Good place to continue the evening. Heaven Sent was a good place for after dinner desserts and coffee. Dessert combinations were nothing too extravagant or crazy, but familiar. Everything was made and held in a glass case then plated when you ordered it. We had a chocolate cake layered with creme brulee, whipped cream, and Bailey's. It was surprisingly good and moist for something so basic. Coffee wasn't anything spectacular though. We went on a Saturday evening and the place got very busy. Heaven Sent was a good place to extend the evening after dinner and I enjoyed that it was casual and relaxing.

Wish I Could Find A Place Like This In LA.... My boyfriend and I stopped here while visiting San Diego on vacation. I was very impressed by the decor and overall atmosphere, which was chic AND cozy at the same time...not a bad feat. The desserts were beautiful and the service was helpful and prompt. A note about their 'Happy Hour' deal so widely hyped here: Each day they pick three desserts to choose from for this, all the desserts are not eligible. We both really enjoyed the "Strawberry Fraise" (Strawberry strawberry?): the cake was very moist and the berries fresh and tasty. The "Falling In Love" (?) Chocolate Cake was also very good and we loved the cream cheese frosting.

great meeting place, good desserts. I'm happy about more competition and having another place to have decent desserts ! The people we dealt with were friendly (not overly, but professional) and it was a busy saturday night, so it's not like they had time to chat! It's a good place to meet friends, when we got there, we didn't have a problem finding a place to sit. I commend the pastry chef for having creativity in coming up with desserts (lavender chocolate shortcake cookies! I'll try those next time)..I thought my dessert sounded great--I think it was Lemon drop cake? It was sponge cake with lemon mascarpone filling, pistachios. covered in a beautiful bruleed (or maybe it was just cooked in the oven) merengue, and my husband had the bread pudding. That cake definitely has potential, but it is still in the rough..There was a big blob of mascarpone topped with big pistachio halves--chunks in the middle of the cake..I love food, and I ESPECIALLY love desserts, so I'm kind of picky when it comes to desserts. Had the amount of lemon mascarpone been considerably reduced, it would of blended marvelously with the soft angel food cake, and had the pistachios been finely chopped to add a subtle nutty flavor instead of big half chunks, the whole thing may have come together very nicely. We are bread pudding lovers, and the truth is that we were greatly disappointed with the bread pudding..It was like as if slices of bread were pounded into pancakes and layered over each other with a mix of sugar and cinnamon, and served over a brandy syrup..It was hard to chew and needed some flavor..Now I admit this is coming from someone who's way too picky (I have an exceptional bread pudding recipe)..! We'd like to come again and try something else. It's a nice place, a great place to have dessert with friends, and I support small, local businesses!!! With time, the chefs will perfect and refine their desserts

Great customer service and super desserts. Heaven sent is a super dessert place with a great vibe. Right when you walk in, you know that this place is top notch. Its got a wide variety of desserts that can please anyone. I have met the owners of the dessert restaurant and they seem like pretty down to earth people who love the concept of "desserts". It is an awesome place with a great building and I'm sure you will like it to.

Best Desserts in San Diego. I love Heaven Sent! They are located in the heart of NoPa in a beautiful corner space. The ambience can be romantic but also great for gathering with friends. I recommend stopping in on a Saturday night after checking out the galleries on Ray St. at the monthly Ray at Night event. I am quite a dessert connoisseur and love to visit San Diego's dessert establishments. Heaven Sent has become my favorite, both for its great urban vibe and utterly amazing daily range of dessert options. Their display cases are a work of art, full of trays and trays of beautiful, intricate, and colorful treats. I recommend the Strawberry Fraise and the Hawaiian Luau cake, though I really don't believe you could go wrong with any of the options Heaven Sent offers. NoPa is lucky to have Heaven Sent. Lucky paw up!
