She may be smart, but she's rude!

First off it took a little too long to get in after my appointment time.

She rushed in and her mouth didn't stop pitching her guinea-pig drugs at me until I left, which BTW was the shortest doctors consult I EVER had. I suffer from Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which apparently she treats a lot of patients with it yearly- so she probably doe know her stuff, but she had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen, and with HS, Lets just say I've been around the Dermatology neighborhood, shopping for a decent doc. I felt like she could give a crap how I felt or anything, she just kept trying to sell her clinical trials at me. Which yes, everything is experimental with HS, but surely someone could learn to be compassionate and have empathy for someone... especially a doctor.

I would not recommend her to anyone. Luckily- I did find a doc in San Diego that treated me with respect and let me get a word in when I needed to be heard for once.

tried and true

i have been to numerous dermatologists and esthicians since my skin suddenly broke out at age 27. i rarely write reviews, but i did join citysearch for the purpose of reviewing Michelle.

foremost, a sudden and severe onset of acne is both extremely frustrating, and truely an esteem killer. i have spent the past year and half traipsing all over san diego for a good doctor to, at the very least, explain to me what is going on. my skin was so bad i couldnt leave the house some days. having never had bad skin, i lacked the know how to get help.

i have tried everything, spent thousands...THOUSANDS of dollars and nothing helped. what was worse is i was not able to have anyone explain to me what was happening. sometimes all i wanted was a piece of mind, to understand what was going on with me. i tried michelle, and i was immediately impressed. in reading some of the reviews, maybe she isnt for some people, but she knows her stuff. she explained everything to me, everything. was honest about pricing, and up front with what to expect. i have done my homework with derms for sure. i hesitate to be dramatic, but she is outstanding. i wanted information and she gave. yes she is seemingly strong willed, but she should be, michelle is well versed in acne and solutions for it. it was not an overflow of 'scripts and products and a kick out the door, the experience was a reasonable method to get my skin back to normal. ITS WORKING.

about her products. they are well worth the price, as i believe its always worth the investment when it comes to your face. she also gives you alternatives and OTC reccos.

all in all, even if you have to sit in the waiting room for some time, its worth it. afterall, if she was not this good, why would there be a wait in the first place?

very informative

I had previously gotten 4 treatments at Dermacare in Mission Valley. They seemed a little shady so I did some additional research and found that a real MD should be doing the laser treatments and not just a nurse or assistant - which is what Dermacare had.

I found Michelle Pelle online and from my first phone call, they were very informative and told me straight up pros and cons of laser and what to expect.

I just had my first treatment there and I am so surprised at how professional a laser treatment SHOULD be! Michelle was extrememly informative and she talked me through each step. She even took down records of the lasers we used, the power levels of the lasers and other one on one information she wanted to keep up to date with me on.

Unlike the other place I went to, Michelle took her time and even went over my areas twice to make sure she got everything. wow! what service.

I highly recomment this clinic.

Avoid this doctor

From the first appt. she lacked bedside manner. Not friendly, and didn't make me feel comfortable with my problem. When I went for a follow up to show her how badly her procedure went she kept me waiting 35+ minutes past my appt., she was rude, sarcastic, wouldn't acknowledge how badly it turned out. She was short tempered and defensive. Wouldn't let me talk without interrupting.

horrible, scary

began with being a thorough physician, albeit rushed and a no good at listening, who then yelled at me and stormed out of the room after stating "I might hurt you"
