“Rather than rushing and parking for dinner, then rushing and parking for a show, I sat back and enjoyed an entire evening of fine food and amazing music.”
“great jazz club”
“then a great filet during the first set and still had room for dessert during the second set.”
“They acknowledged it but didnt really apologize or offered a drink on the house or something to show good service.”
“have never been to a place where I am able to enjoy a great meal while listening to a live band.”
“Very nice venue for musical events, but the menu was limited and the food was overpriced.”
“what an amazing place!”
“horrible experience”
“They acknowledged it but didnt really apologize or offered a drink on the house or something to show good service.”
“like the fact that the multiple courses flowed over the entire evening, rather than getting one huge plate at once.”
“It is more than considerably slow; not so friendly, and the appetizer menu is expensive, mediocre, and tiny.”
go for the entertainment. Great venue. I would return again; however, I would opt to sit anywhere but the community table unless you enjoy having someone sit on your lap. They seem to really pack the community table. Could be ok if you arrive early as it's first come, best seating with community table. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Venue worth returning for. Service not the best but decent. Seemed understaffed.
** Great Place! **.
Finally went after a few friends recommended. What an amazing place! The food was unbelievable and the service unmatched. Our waitress recommended a terrific wine to accompany my salmon (which was delicious as well).
I have never been to a place where I am able to enjoy a great meal while listening to a live band. We saw the house band and I was wowed! I cannot say enough good things about this place. I will definitely be back and soon!
Great Jazz Club. Been there twice. Loved it twice. Very sophisticated. Good food. Terrific music. Great atmosphere. Loved the tables on the first floor.
smallest food ever and over priced. if your hungry this isnt the place to go because they have their dinners the size of a peanut at first i tought they were appetizers, plus for that little dinner it will cost you more than $100 buck
Unique, Authentic Dining and Music Experience, All in One Stop. Going out on the town sometimes means more time going and less time doing. Rather than rushing and parking for dinner, then rushing and parking for a show, I sat back and enjoyed an entire evening of fine food and amazing music. Granted, Wynton Marsalis made the evening special, but the setting made the entire experience memorable. I like the fact that the multiple courses flowed over the entire evening, rather than getting one huge plate at once. I had a drink at the bar and ordered a ceaser before the show. Then a great Filet during the first set and still had room for dessert during the second set. The bill was big, but not more than dinner and a show at seperate venues. I will definately be back.
Editorial Review. Little Italy's new live music venue brings fine acoustics, top-notch jazz acts and world-class cuisine.
WORTH A TRY. I have been to anthology two times now.One time for jazz and the second for latin music. The groups were oay,but nothing spectacular.I suspect its not in thier budget for top rate talent. The food is very average. The kobe sliders were bland and the buns were dry and tasteless. The bread basket they serve was rather good,as is the cheese plate.Portions are very small,as is the case with one of the owners, celebrity chef bradley ogden, give a little charge a lot.My bill for two people was $150,which I thought was rather pricey for average food and entertainment. If you have to check it out go to the bar ,spend the twenty dollar minimum for food per person, pay for your ticket for the music, which varies per artist,or go on a night when they don't charge for the music.Overall the price is very beautiful inside, but they need to work on their food and entertainment.
fabulous music club. THE place for music! It is like having a private concert with the performer! I have heard performers like Raul Malo, the charming James Hunter from England, Classic jazz greats like Ramsey Lewis and Terrence Blanchard- the range of styles and quality of talent are top notch. The food is above average but I usually go for the music. Great place to take a date or celebrate a anniversary.
Don't go Hungry!!. The place itself is great, sort of like jazz bar meets supper club with an industrial feel. There is a cover charge ($15) disguised by a concert ticket to get in. Food is very average and portions are small, prices are above average for what you get and the service is sub-par, although they don't seem to think so since they stab you with an 18% gratuity included on the bill no matter the size of your party. My recommendation: go for drinks and to listen to cool jazz with great sound, especially if you know who the band is.
