What People Are Saying About Whole Foods Market

In Short – Whole Foods is a vegetarian's dream grocery store, with a focus on natural and organic goods and a gargantuan selection of fruits, vegetables and vegan products. But carnivores won't feel neglected, as stores also boast a vast selection of top-quality meats, poultry and fish. Also expect fresh-baked goods, housewares, a floral department and a well-stocked vitamin and personal-product section. Deli offers hot and cold prepared foods and artisanal cheeses.

Going downhill
by LarryLogan at Citysearch
i used to whop here every week, despite the ridiculous prices, but now i never go. The shopping is still very good and the prices are still very high, but the food court area has the same food. No real variety anymore.
And why they got rid of the turkey meatballs, i don't know.
Subpar Whole Foods
by EveYY at Citysearch
Comparing to most other Whole Food martkets that I have been to, this one really disappointed. It was rather small and the prepared food did not look appealing. I don't live close and made a special trip all the way to Hillcrest just to be severely disappointed. I walked out with an Acai juice (the same I get from my local grocery store) and some cut fruit that wasn't spectacular. I was just very sad leaving since I had anticipated such greater things. If you ever travel outside of San Diego and come across a Whole Foods ( and it looks fantastically BIG) then go in! You'll see what I mean. I remember my jaw dropping and being in complete and utter awe when I walked into and round the one in Baton Rouge. The San Diego one is just lackluster compared.
BEST place to Grocery Shop!
by daisy00700 at Citysearch
My favorite place to Grocery Shop.... hands down! They have tons of organic foods, and a really amazing deli/bakery section. Their produce and vegetables are always fresh and much better than any other supermarket in San Diego. Somewhat pricey, but definitely worth it.
Be sure to try their berry cheesecake.. it's amazing!
- Pros: Organic Food, Bakery, Produce
- Cons: Price, Parking can be difficult at times
