My favorite Italian place in San Diego.
Without a question, my favorite Italian place in San Diego! Seriously, this is my favorite Italian place.
You may be wondering, "why is this his favorite place?" My answer to you is...I don't know. I can't tell you exactly, so let me give you a few reasons...I love how quaint the place is (it is very small), I love the food, I like the staff and their attitude toward customers, I like the feeling inside (just like I am sitting in Italy, and I like the inexpensive mediocre wine (if the wine was spectacular, this place wouldn't feel so authentically Italian).
You have to give this place a try, you will love it.

Really yummy.
Simply delicious. I have to say it is one of the best Italian restaurants that I have ever been to, if not the best! Really yummy pasta dishes. The strawberry napoleon dessert was also delicious. Very reasonably priced. Gets very busy so definitely make a reservation. Give yourself some extra time to find parking.

Worth may return visits.
We had an excellent meal recently. There was plenty of people watching available. While it is not white linen table cloth the food is great, the atmosphere is energetic, and the prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be back for some more great pasta.
P.S. they valid parking for the lot right behind the restaurant.

Italy in America.
If you're looking for Italy in America, you've found it here. I came here after hearing a friend rave about the food and the ambience of the place. I really enjoyed it despite the fact that I had reservations for 9PM and I had to wait for 20 minutes. I figured that I was going to an Italian restaurant and if it was really authentic, then it was going to "feel" like I was in Italy. The place had the "aura" of the small Venetian cafes where you can order massive plates of pastas. I had one of the cream pastas specials with Amaretto - it was delicious. Accompanied with Shiraz red wine - mm! It was wonderful. Despite the wait, it was a worthwhile adventure and great evening!

The Best Italian Food Ever!.
Oh my wow! The food here is absolutely amazing! We went to this restaurant because of a recommendation from a friend. It was so so worth it. I had the tortellini with ham and peas, which was a perfect balance between salt and sweet! My friend had their salmon ravioli with cream and caviar, which was incredible. This place is so good that we are grabbing lunch their today. Oh, and we took home a cannoli that was delish too!

Fun for dinner dates.
We had such a cute date here! It's not too fancy, but much nicer than a pizza parlot -- the perfect date spot. It's a little "lively" (and by that I mean noisy), but we had the best pasta and the best wine and the best time. Ciao!

Family-style Italian spot serves up homemade pastas to nightly crowds on Hillcrest's hottest corner..
In Short
From the striped awnings and sidewalk tables, to the noisy dining room that smells of garlic and red wine, this intimate Fourth Ave spot resembles a true Roman café. Everything's authentic, including a wait staff fluent in Italian and a no-rush policy where patrons are free to linger long after the linguini is gone, no matter the line outside. A nice selection of table wines complements the homemade pastas and gnocchi.
