Combos Galore

I have been coming to Ichiban for about three months now since I started working in that area of downtown. I haven't ordered sushi here before so I can only vouch for the chicken/beef combo plates, but I have been impressed during each of my visits there around the lunch hour. My personal favorite is the Chicken with ginger sauce plate, although I've also tried the simple teriyaki chicken and rice and that was good too!

The line can sometimes be a little long, but it moves pretty fast and I guess that's to be expected during the 11:30-1:30 block on a weekday pretty much anywhere you go.

• Pros: good combo plates!
• Cons: lines can be a little long (move fast tho)

GOOD, CHEAP SUSHI!!

I'm surprised there isn't more reviews on here because Ichiban is always bumping every time I've been or driven by! When I lived in SD, I used to work about four blocks away (which is good because parking in Hillcrest can be dicey, especially around dinner time) and came here for lunch probably once every few weeks or so.

There's always a wide range of people inside -- from business types like myself, students, Japanese natives, etc. I guess everyone likes cheap sushi and Ichiban definitely delivers! There's about a million choices on their menu and I've been pleased every time I've gone!

*** Don't be scared if you see a long line...it goes really fast and you'll have your food in about 10 or so minutes after ordering!

• Pros: prices are unmatched
• Cons: parking can be difficult at times
