The old Hamburger Mary's still rocks out Hillcrest with a new name, and the same great burgers and cocktails.

Margarita's

All I will say is the Kick A** Margarita's totally live up to their name and I highly recommend them. I didn't have any food but it sure looked good going by. Fun place with mostly guys and straight women.
Great burgers
by jomarkumar423 at Citysearch
I had been meaning to check this place out, and get the 411 on what goes on over here. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly host, who advised we MUST eat there. Upon his advisement, we sat down and had ourselves a meal. The menu had a decent selection of burgers, sandwiches, and other staple bar food. My party and I ordered the potato skins, the Guacamole burger, and specialty sandwich. The potato skins were pretty plain, of course they are potato skins. The Guacamole burger and specialty sandwich were excellent. The burger had a spicy guacamole on it, and it was a very hefty serving weighing in at 1/2 pound. The sandwich as well was on par with the burger in terms of it size, and the roast beef was moist and delicious. As far as aesthetics, it's got a pretty hip vibe to it, though the music was a bit loud considering it was only lunch. The only real downfall of the meal was the service. Several people who had come in after us received their food before us. The server was apologetic, and bought a drink for a person in our party. Overall, I would recommend this place, but be wary of service (especially on a busy night). This place is definitely a place to go and do some people watching.
- Pros: Great food, fun hip environment, friendly staff
- Cons: slow service
