Fun Fact

Legend has it that the owners import all their ingredients from the Bronx in New York, even the water they use to amke the dough, and that's what gives the pizza an authentic New York taste.

Bronx Pizza is best when you buy a whole pizza made fresh. Occasionally the pizzas are overcooked, but for the most part they are pretty consistent. The crust is thin and crispy with a soft middle, the sauce is perfect, and the toppings are fresh. It is definitely authentic...i eat pizza twice a week, and i order from Bronx Pizza twice a month. i have to disagree with the other "New Yorkers" who say that San Diego does not have good NY-style pizza. Sure, maybe they don't speak the lingo and don't have the attitude, but there are several places from Hillcrest to downtown with good East Coast-style pizza. Ciro's, and even Gaslamp pizza offer a good fix for those of us homesick for our homestyle pizza. And you can get tri-state suburban style pizza at Basic Pizza near Petco Park. Much respect.

This place is an institution that has spawned others (former employees). Nice thin pizza, red with sauce or the white, no sauce, there are usually six to 10 varieties with an even split between white and red. I like the pizza cause it goes light on the cheese...no mounds of government cheese here! if there is a line out the door, not to worry, it moves fast. You select your slice(s) (usually 2 slices and a soft drink for $6Bucks) and they are put into the oven. the slices come out nice and crispy hot. I have seen parties bring their own fine wine to have a pizza party in the rear seating. Come on down and enjoy!!!! Best pizza in town.

Pros: GREAT pizza served nice and hot

Cons: lack of fine dining experience, ha ha!
