Do not use this florist! Scott
Northcote, owner, has committed credit card fraud by processing unauthorized charges on my credit card. After repeated phone calls and emails from me--and now Visa/Chase, I am turning this over to the San Diego fraud department.
Four weeks before my daughter's wedding, I was in search of a new florist. This guy in totally unscrupulous. Do not let the creative and innovative floral designs veil Bontanica's creative and innovative "accounting
system". The guy is a crook!

Great flowers, unfriendly owner. I visited Botanica with my fiance on 9/30/08; it is almost a month later and no word from them, and no proposal. The only reason I give Botanica two stars is b/c I honestly really liked their approach to floral design--I agree with their description of their design approach as clean, fresh, etc. etc. However, Scott the owner's attitude is horrible. I think he basically caters to select, high-end weddings and has acquired a reputation as a high-end, niche florist, and so I guess he feels he can afford to be snooty. I don't think he cracked a smile once throughout our meeting with him. We told him we really liked his approach, but were on a budget. He proceeded to tell us about a wedding he was doing for which the floral budget was $22,000, and implied that we would be terribly embarrassed if we don't pay enough for our florals since they make or break a wedding. In another example of how unfriendly he was, I mentioned that I might be interested in using some lanterns he had--he basically ignored my comment, I think b/c he felt we couldn't afford that extra. I guess our wedding would be chump change to Botanica in terms of our budget (our budget was in the range of what he indicated his typical wedding package starts at), so he didn't bother to send out a proposal. Ironically, we met another florist whom we love and who has a really warm personality, and we'll probably end up paying close to what we would've paid with Botanica.
