Flowers for All. Brightening up the corner of El Cajon Blvd. and Arizona St. is a store front advertising “Dave’s Flower Box.” Dave had a straight forward style: fresh flowers, good prices and everyday friendliness. And while he finally found the opportunity to retire a few years back, he didn’t give the shop to any passing florist. He knew current owners Michelle and Jim Martin, also owners of Windy’s Flowers by way of a similar situation, were perfect to keep up his agenda. And when he finally passed the shop over, just to stay with tradition, they kept the name the same.

Both Michelle and Jim are veterans of the floral industry; Michelle has worked at a flower shop ever since she was fifteen and had a grandfather who was also a florist. Now she gets to work everyday to apply those years of experience to articulating arrangements for various occasions and people. But the arrangement is only as good as the flowers arranged, and the bountiful selection is thanks to Dave, who finds fresh flowers every weekday from a Carlsbad wholesaler.

And the energy they put into the shop shows. The moment you enter Dave’s Flower Box, sweet fragrances whiff through the air, noticeable while not overbearing. A few choice selections are available throughout the store, but the most beautiful configurations are kept behind glass in a cooled space, which keeps the quality of the colors and flowers freshness. So whenever you want a fresh bouquet with people interested in what’s good for you, Dave’s Flower Box is the place.
