“There are several great coin shops that I have found around San Diego but if you are intent on checking this place out get a quote for a similar coin from another source, I guarentee this shop will be about 20% higher and if they are not it is a cleaned c”
“The two old thieves that run the place are rude, unhelpful, and could really care less if you leave there feeling cheated and ripped off.”
Great Place for an awesome deal.
My experience with the owners has been nothing but pleasant. They quoted me fair and reasonable prices for new gold and always gave me a fair price when selling gold and silver to them.
Great place to do business.
Nobody answers the telephone?.
I called simply trying to call a speak with a live human being. Instead, I got a recording of a person quoting the daily price for gold and silver.
I really don't want to have to drive miles across town to get my questions answered. Pretty strange and seemingly unprofessional. I guess that the next time I'm in the area I will stop in the store. I'll let you know how that goes as well.
Review Rebutal. Old Coin Shop has been in the same location 48 years. Yes, we do have short hours which are of our choosing. The hours are 9-3 Monday thru Friday and 9 - Noon on Saturday. The hours are not posted. If the shutter is down we are closed. We have a 100% no questions 15 day return policy provided the coins remain in our original sealed flips. Thanks for the opportunity to rebut the above comment.
A True Scam. This place is a total joke. They scam people coming in with coins knowing that they have no clue the mark up they are going to throw on those coins the second they are out the door. I was personally burned after I bought several high priced coins there being assured that the grade justified the price. I shipped them out to be graded and slabbed only to find out that they had sold me cleaned coins that were worthless. I am have tried to call them 3 or 4 times but the phone number listed goes straight to a recording and everytime I have gone back when their store should be open (according to the sign on their door) they are closed for no apparent reason. The two old thieves that run the place are rude, unhelpful, and could really care less if you leave there feeling cheated and ripped off. I hope they go out of business. There are several great coin shops that I have found around San Diego but if you are intent on checking this place out get a quote for a similar coin from another source, I guarentee this shop will be about 20% higher and if they are not it is a cleaned coin.
