The lounge style of workout places. This is the nicest gym in San Diego - atmosphere, great view of Petco Park, Pool & Sauna, nice equipment.

Some of the cons: they now have a contract with the Law School, so a ton of students in the yoga classes - you can barely breathe.

Not as much variety of the weekly classes in teaching method. Would like to see more cardio classes, Zumba during the week.

** Marissa is seriously the best Zumba teacher I have ever taken. Jen P. is a phenomenal skilled Yoga teacher. George is an awesome Kettlebells teacher.

Pros: Staff is friendly and helpful. Fun music in the gym. Great treadmills.

Best Gym in San Diego. I absolutely love this gym. The Boot Camp rocks! All of my friends workout at Fit—and when I meet someone new that doesn’t, it only takes one visit and then they’re hooked too.

Fit. Great gym. The fighting program is top notch with people who actually fight. Kettle bells, Bulgarian bag, MMA training—what more do want?

Not your typical gym. Fit is not your typical smelly gym that was designed by some meathead with a dream. I'm pretty sure a real designer was hired to do this space. It's obvious from the lounge area to the locker rooms. Superb equipment, great layout, and high quality people too. It's the kind of place where you would actually want to network with the other people who workout there. I can't imagine East Village without this place.

Quality Gym & Overall Fitness Center. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of Fit and always had a quality workout with the immense amount of quality equipment available.

The location is amazing as its in downtown San Diego overlooking Petco Park so you can watch a Padres game on the field below all while working out.

In addition to this you are provided FREE 3 hour garage parking nearby anytime you visit the gym.

The only thing that is missing from a complete gym wishlist of mine is a basketball court, but all the amenities provided easily overcomes this.

More than a gym. Fit Athletic is one of my favorite places to do Yoga, Watch the Padres, socialize, and oh yeah, work out! Gym is beautiful, equipment is top notch and locker room is first rate.

Best Gym in San Diego. This is by far the best gym in San Diego. I used to belong to LA Fitness and Fit Athletic is far superior. They have the best equipment around, the classes are great, and the gym is always very clean. They also have the best training staff. I never used to use a personal trainer but I have been working out with Paul and Glenn there and they top notch. They also have great food and I have been getting lunch there everyday for the past year. Management is constantly doing things to make this place even better. I would highly recommend joining this gym.

Great trainers but management/owner is crooked. Was a member at Fit for over a year, loved the trainers and that the gym was not over crowded. HATED that they played the music like you were in a night club! Also had a problem with paying a monthly fee then being charged an annual maintence fee. Also was charged for waters and food when I wasn't at the gym. I have since canceled my membership with the proper notice and made management sign for the cancelation notice and now I have been charged for my monthly fee for two months after the cancelation

Best Capeoira Class in San Diego. The athletic club is a great plus for the downtown life. The interior is top notch and I love the equipment. It has such a great modern feel to it. The 2 best classes are: Capeoira with Bruno and Butts and Guts with Connie. I have taken several Capeoira classes and this one is by far the most challenging. The music is

from Brazil and he teaches a completely different class each time. Expect to burn at least 700 calories. You might also be soar for a day or two. Best instructor I have been to in a long time. Butts and Guts...this class is also very challenging and she will work you out like you haven't worked out before. I was soar for days and my hanmstrings were worked to the max. The yoga is pretty good, as well as th cycle classes. The pool is pretty small and just opened so not sure yet. I will need to swim a few laps and report back. Those are the +. The drinks are pretty expensive for a health club, so bring your own water.
