“If you like a great view, good food and a fun atmosphere, come here!”
“Why would we have to get up and go to a full bar where there is no room to order and have a separate tab for drinks?”
“would go back with low expectations on service and seating, but high expectations on having another really yummy fish taco!”

“Be warned, noise level is really bad, service bites, and they don't take plastic.”
“They have great happy hour deals!”
This place has the most delicious fish tacos I have ever had. And it has so many different kinds of fish tacos, its like fish taco heaven. May be tough to get a seat, but well worth it. Right by the ocean, so if you are lucky you might get a seat with a good view. Bring Cash.
Go during Happy Hour, bring cash. Ok, this was listed as one of the best by Gourmet Magazine. Pretty close to the truth. The fish tacos are very good, best in the US, close but no cigar. That said, the Oyster taco is to die for, as well as the Oysters on the half shell, the fried mushrooms, baby octopus, fired peppers, and anything else on the appetizer menu. Go between 5-6 pm Mon-Fri and all appetizers are half price. A really great deal. Be warned, noise level is really bad, service bites, and they don’t take plastic. Leave home without it.
Go for Taco Tuesdays!.
I went here for the 1st time last night and heard people raving about the tacos. Well there was good reason people were raving bc the fish tacos were amazing! i had the lobster, grilled shrimp, calamari, and oyster tacos. The best (so hard to choose) was the calamari and lobster coming in a close second. I've had quite a few lobster, calamari, shrimp tacos in my day and these are hands down the best.
Seating is tough but we lucked out with a bar table with an ocean view and was able to see the sunset. Your typical beach bar scene/decor/crowd. Not sure what the place any other time but the bar was busy but was able to get a seat in about 15 minutes or so. Def go for the tacos!
strange service, great fish tacos!. This place is right on the corner, where Newport Ave meets the ocean. There are only a few ?view? seats in the restaurant, so don?t get your hopes up. Both times we went there this place was packed!!! I am guessing it?s less busy on weekdays. The service was?strange. We sat at a bar, in front of windows looking out over the ocean (it wasn?t attached to the bar where the bartenders make drinks). When the waitress finally greeted us after 10 minutes, she explained that we?d have to go the bar to order drinks but she would help us with food. Huh??? Why would we have to get up and go to a full bar where there is no room to order and have a separate tab for drinks? Strange! We ordered tacos to share; Baja, Mahi, and steak. They fish tacos where to die for ? the best I have ever had. The steak had a lot of room for improvement, they were dry and had very little flavor. The waitress didn?t really check on us to see how we were doing, so we ended up calculating the approximate bill in our head and leaving cash after waiting for more than 20 minutes for her to check back. I would go back with low expectations on service and seating, but high expectations on having another really yummy fish taco!
Editorial Review. OB's landmark restaurant and bar welcomes a flip-flopped crowd for cheap drinks and famous fish tacos served three ways.
When great food equals bad decision. If you ever go to the South Beach Bar and Grille, DO NOT order the side of rice and beans with your tacos. Sure, they're the best Mexican beans and rice you'll probably ever have either in the US or in a Mexico resort town, but it'll only make you too full to order a third taco, which is what you should do instead. Best. Tacos. Ever. No, seriously. Frankly, the mahi mahi taco was one of the two or three best things I've ever eaten in my life. Wife was almost as enthusiastic about the lobster taco, which only easily cracked her top ten. Oh, and the fish tacos are less than $3 a piece and the lobster less than $4 a piece. She hates cooked fish, so she didn't try the mahi mahi, but I did try the lobster. The lobster was very, very good. The mahi mahi is divine.
