The Scene – Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads and low-impact membership premiums, this national fitness chain has steadily attracted a clientele bent on saving money while losing weight or gaining muscle. – – The Workout – Using fairly standard strength-training equipment and/or racks well-stocked with free weights, the best of the trainers here, who are classified at four different…
Better than 24 hour fitness
by SherelleLeigh
You two are crazy. Ballys is a way better gym than most gyms I have been to. I have both a membership at Ballys and 24 hour fitness, I enjoy going to Ballys much better. The only con I see is that they close at 8 on the weekends.
- Pros: Clean, organized, friendly staff
- Cons: Only open til 8 on the weekends
Cheap membership has it's cost

The Mission Valley Bally's is small, dark, and usually smelly. They have a lot of old equipment that really needs to be updated. They can't compare to the "luxury" gyms like Golds in Sports Arena area, but they do have less expensive membership dues. They also have a pool and a full running track. If they updated/remodeled the club and added some better classes, it would be a much more pleasant experience to go there.
- Pros: lower costs
- Cons: dark, dank atmosphere, class variety
OK gym!!

This gym needs a total face lift. Its always super crowed during the evenings. There BOSU bootcamp is the best, its very, very intense but its worth it. They have a pool and jacuzzi, although for some reason there are always old men there
- Cons: Old men are always in the jacuzzi
