Mispresentation and Rudeness
by mahilden
I was a victim of credit theft in 2007. My younger sister took out four credit cards in my name without my knowledge. She was caught, and sent to Marysville Correctional Facility for Women in Ohio, where she served nine months of a two sentence.
It took me over a year to straighten out my credit situation. Then today, out of the blue, I receive a phone call from Credit Solutions Corp. demanding payment for one of the fraudulent credit cards.
To begin with, when I answered the phone call they either purposely or by accident (I tend to believe purposely) misrepresented themselves as being with the IRS. Then they threatened me with something called a 1099-C -- stating that they were going to turn this 1099C into the IRS because the balance due was now over $600.00. When I tried to explain that a mistake (on their part) had made, a employee going by the name Henry Roberts told me that, "That sounds like a bunch of excuses to me." I was so angry by the way I was being treated that I lost my temper and told "Mr. Roberts" to F--K OFF!
I am now in the process of faxing documentation to Credit Solutions Corp (e.g., police reports, letters from the Bank, etc.) to show that I do not owe anyone anything. As soon as that I process is through, I plan to contact the FDIC anyone else I can think of!
