MILITARY MEMBERS BEWARE!!!. ATTENTION ALL MILITARY MEMBERS!!! The Padre Gardens are not military friendly at all. I have been in the military for 18 years fighting for our freedom cause we all know freedom isn't free. I have deployed to Iraq (3) times and Afganistan once. Due to the drop in the economy in 2008, I lost my home. Because of this, my credit is not great but I have outstanding rental history and I have never been late on any monthly rental payments. Padre Gardens Management denied me a chance to rent with them. I tried pleading with the agent and even talked to his manager. They even had the nerve to delay sending me back my check of $235.00 dollars of which I paid to get the process started(still haven't received it yet). If this is how the Padre Gardens Management treats active duty military, please stay away from this complex. There are much more military friendly apartments in San Diego that will treat us better and appreciate what we do for this country. Thank you.

The Mission Valley Slums. This place is falling apart and they use tape to hold it together. Car theft is rampant, none of the security doors work. NONE of them! There are no assigned parking spaces so if you get home late you have to park by the trolley station. There are no guest parking spaces so don't plan on having friends over. The only reason I moved in was because it was the cheapest place in Mission Valley. I have been here a year and a half and they have raised my rent twice by a total of $155 a month! And now they are telling me that if I sign another year lease, my rent will increase by "only" another $100 after the lease ends! Unlike most places, water is not included so you can add 30-40 a month for that. It's no wonder people keep breaking their lease to get out of here.
