TERRIFIC AS COFFEE SHOPS GO.. Very much like Swingers in LA. Hip, fun and actually good! Friendly service too. A little expensive for what is is but it is an expensive area. The quality of the place makes it easier to spend $14. on a breakfast or burger.

There's nothing more retro-chic than pulling up a swivel seat at the counter for a cup of coffee and a slice of pie, and there's no where more authentic to experience it than Mary Jane's Coffee Shop. The odd part? It's the main lobby restaurant of the super-sleek, modern, celebrity-driven Hard Rock Hotel. Luckily the contradiction is superficial at best, as Mary Jane's is plenty hip all on its own. The white leather chairs, funky, mid-century glass chandeliers and wide, half-circle bar make it the perfect place for anyone to see and be seen downtown. The menu packs a price-conscious punch with spicy buffalo chicken salad, a few fun burgers and lots of old American classics updated. Think meat loaf, cobb salad and mac 'n cheese all for less than $20. Hotel guests from the Hard Rock keep the place buzzing morning 'til evening, while local Gaslamp nightcrawlers pack in after hours and on weekend for brunch.

Hip Gaslamp Brunch Location. Located on the lobby level of the Hard Rock Hotel, Mary Jane?s is the perfect morning after complement to a night at Sweetwater Saloon! At first, I was disappointed that the Sunday Brunch menu didn?t include the Elvis Peanut Butter/Banana sandwich from the room service menu, but the Coffee Shop Skillet loaded with everything good ended up being just what we needed! My husband and I both got the same toppings and were full for the rest of the day. The friendly staff, relaxed/hip atmosphere, and live DJ completed our dining experience.

Best margarita. Good food, excellent service and awesome margaritas. Cute place. We would have gone back for breakfast or lunch the next day but wanted to explore more restaurants. Would love to explore more of the menu.
