Editorial Review for Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill – by Robyn Galbos
In Short
After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.

above average franchise of fast food, but healthy and clean fish tacos. Better than most others, and convenient when you're hungry don't want to spend a lot of money, and happen to be nearby
Pros: self-serve bar with fresh cilantro, limes, salsa, fast service
Cons: sometimes not as clean
