DK Hair. David Valencia and Kenneth Bradshaw have collectively been coloring, trimming, and treating hair for a while until mutual admiration and respect lead them to create DK Hair in 2003. By 2007, the duo had set up shop in Hillcrest and now DK Hair is one of the most amazing, smartly designed hair salons in San Diego, though it feels like a Hollywood studio. “I think the fact that we have different departments, so stylists can specialize in what they do is what makes us unique,” Valencia says. This is what makes DK Hair a cut above: two different departments fill up an entire store front, one dedicated to styling and cutting hair, the other for coloring and makeup. DK Hair is flashes and sparks when it comes to styling hair, but it also knows when to tone down the volume by providing two private rooms for Swedish massages and facials. The cost of getting your hair done can run a little high, usually with services starting around $50.00, but clients get way they pay for in terms of quality and precision. DK Hair is the only salon in San Diego that is officially partnered with Bumble & Bumble, so their products (both hair and makeup) match the level of skill found in every one of their stylists. When you want to treat yourself and make a day out of looking beautiful, DK Hair the salon to get you ready for your close up.
