The Best Hair in San Diego.
Marcus is by far the best.
I was apprehensive about seeing a new stylist because I get nervous before someone touches my hair. A friend referred me to a certain salon which I went to reluctantly.
The manager of that salon matched me with Marcus over 10 years ago and I have never looked back,
I explained what I wanted done although I wasn't really sure and he said "if I wanted that cut to go to Supercuts." That my hair was too good for that. I asked him to go with what he thought would be a good fit for not only my head but my personality and business/social lives.
I didn't realize that a perfect haircut and experience would make me feel more confident in my business and personal life.
10 years later and I never stop coming back to Marcus. The Solon is 5 star but the service and end results make it the the only hair Solon and the only hair stylist (Marcus) that I will visit.

Too much money for Too little of anything. The look of the salon was great. It leads you to believe that you will walk out of the salon a new woman. I took a chance and was not happy. My hair cut looked good when I left but the minute it was up to me to style it it just looked choppy. My color faded within a few weeks and dried my hair out completely. And I paid way too much for nothing. Way too much is $175 for a hair cut with someone who was not even on celebrity status. Also the salon was not clean. Hair was everywhere, the towels smelt like mildew, dust on all the shelves and I am not a conservative person at all but the owner was very innapropriate sexually and really made me uncomfortable. My advice to everyone is if you want to take a chance on your hair and not be satisfied in the end and spend way too much money then Salon de Marcus is your place to be.
Best Hair Cut in My Life.
Seriously! I went there, and asked Frederick to put the "Rock Star" back in my hair. (I received a "soccer mom" cut at another salon which I hated) And he knew exactly what I meant, and gave me an awesome hair cut. This is going to be the only hair salon I go to in San Diego.
Additionally:
The other reviewer who is stating that it cost $175 for just a hair cut isn't mentioning it included color. Color usually costs a bunch extra. My haircut was around $60 and I've never had a better cut. I had it cut very short, and three months later it still looks good even though it grew out a bunch. Also, don't blame the Salon if you can't style your own hair. AND it's not dirty! It's a VERY nice establishment. I'm going there this weekend! :-)
BEST SALON IN TOWN :). very nice and very relaxing... i loved my hair cut and my blowdry! i highly advise people to go there!!!
