Editorial Review for Longboard Grill – by Michael Alarcon
In Short
Quite a few establishments on Garnet go with the Polynesian theme, but Longboards is really the only place that gets the food, atmosphere and cocktail menu right on. Palm fronds, bamboo and vintage surfbords assemble the bar's pleasant interior, often filed with 20-something groups in serious hang-out mode. Not to be overlooked, the menu ranges from light Mexican fare to pub sandwiches, but your best bet is the mahi-mahi.

Absolutely terrible! I was there tonight and waiting for friends. I had been injured and asked to wait for my friends. They refused to let me wait inside and made me wait in the cold. I then sat in an empty chair that they kicked me out of even though I couldnt walk due to a foot injury. I have been there in the past and the bar is not even that fun. A lot of older dirty men and expensive drinks compared to the rest of the PB bars. The fact that the manager of the bar was present and would not let me sit turned me off of this bar for good. I will not go back. I have a friend's bday party scheduled there next week. I will make sure to relocate the celebration. Not recommeneded. I go out and travel 5 nights a week. In san diego there is definitlely better. Dont waste your time.
Cons: Bad crew

I went to longboards for the first and last time a few weeks ago. I changed my plans to attend one of my friends band shows one weekend and Longboards would not allow the band to play because of a baseball game that was on. It was one of the weirdest nights I've ever had. On top of that there was very slow service and they kept charging me different prices for the same thing. I would recommend this bar if you want to try to get drunk and hang out with some rude bartenders.
