In Short – Located just steps from Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, this popular breakfast and lunch spot frequently has a line of hungry locals and tourists snaking out the door. The no-frills service includes an order counter, paper plates and plastic utensils, but the friendly staff, affordable prices, and beach ambience more than make up for it. A cozy indoor dining area offers a TV with endless surfing videos, but most patrons opt for the umbrella tables on the deck where they can watch real life surfers on the waves below. 10.0 Best breakfast in town
by bessfish
The ultimate in San Diego breakfast dining experiences. The great food, the salty ocean air. The line moves fast when its locals. When its tourists, just kick back and enjoy that you are living where others come to visit.
- Pros: Cheap. Delicious
- Cons: The line can really be brutal sometimes.

Cheap eats on the beach

Once you get pas the line to order, Kono's is the best beach location for breakfast (served all day). It's cheap, it's a lot of food and it's right on the beach - it doesn't get more San Diego than this. Of the times I've been here, I've never gotten anything other than breakfast, but they serve lunch too.
- Pros: Cheap food, great views
- Cons: Lengthy wait to order, parking is a pain
