“We were excited to enjoy a drink and a nice lunch, but we never had the opportunity.”
“miss the option of lots of lettuce and tomato, mabye avacado (I know I sound HM) but I have to admit my husband who likes a good ol' meat/cheese kabob thinks it is the best thing ever!”
“Simple menu, but the burgers are amazing.”
“Tends to be crowded, especially on Fri/Sat nights, naturally, and service can be slow, but there are always sports on the tv, and buddies to talk to while you wait for either a table or your food.”
“am also from out of town, long beach, ca, so we love the dive bars.”
ROCKY'S is #1,#2,#3,#4...........
No one close.....maybe a Saska's Burger is a distant 10th place. Eat the 1/2 pound burger...the 1/3 pound burger is great for the lady in your life or .........
this "richerthanlifelord" dude or chicka'...STAY AWAY FROM ROCKY'S....WE ARE THERE FOR THE BURGERS!!!!! Go to a French restaurant in Hillcrest with your pals and have a TOFU burger.......
Joe, Jerry and the Boys keep up the GREAT Service and Burgers......PB is lucky to have Rocky's .......That's IT!!!! Period!!! End of story!!!
HORRIBLE. Serice was horrid. Waiter was absurd, and there is absolutely nothing special about the place. Would NOT RECOMMEND
Did somebody say burger and beer?. If you want a big "mans" burger, this is the place! Go early though because its small and sometimes is hard to find a place to sit.
Rocky"s Does Not Accept Credit Cards!.
Rocky's has the best burger in San Diego, great
beers and plenty of TV's to watch sports on.
Cash is the only form of payment accepted.
Depends on the customer..... My husband and I have been there a lot. I, a rather healthy eater, don't love it....I miss the option of lots of lettuce and tomato, mabye avacado (I know I sound HM) but I have to admit my husband who likes a good ol' meat/cheese kabob thinks it is the best thing ever! No options available.
You're stoked about this burger. Serves the best burger ever had. Small menu, makes things easy. Tends to be crowded, especially on Fri/Sat nights, naturally, and service can be slow, but there are always sports on the tv, and buddies to talk to while you wait for either a table or your food.
Not your average PB Pub.
I love the controversy of statements like "The Best Burger", " The Greatest Dive", etc. etc. etc.
The easiest description is that it's not your typical PB joint. There's no waiter, no credit cards, no hard alchol, and no BS. Go in and get a great burger and a beer, watch the game and hang out. The bartender doesn't try to entertain you for tips, or hustle a table for you.
Get it yourself, clean up after yourself, and enjoy the burger. It can't get any easier than that. If you need more attention or frills, maybe Hodad's is the place for you.
MOST AMAZING HAMBURGER EVER!!!!.
I dont know what that person was talking about when they said that the bartenders and workers of Rocky's Crown Pub were rude! They were awsome and fun! Very chill and relax atmosphere. Sports games on all TVs and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am also from out of town, long beach, ca, so we love the dive bars. Rocky's is not your upper class kind of bar, its down home, hanging out with the boys watchin sports, grabbin a beer or two, good old fashioned dive bar fun! Everyone should deffinately check it out if they are in the area!
The burger is amazing. It comes with cheese, no cheese, onion, pickles, lettuce, and tomato. they offer your catchup, mustard, hot peppers, and fries, these fries are the good kind, you know the ones that are thick and fried to perfection. All and all, the Rocky's Crown Pub experience was great!
Good food, good friends, and good times, what more could you ask for?
Editorial Review. Casual, intimate PB pub famous for juicy burgers and fresh fries draws throngs of locals.
Rude!. After hearing that Rocky's had the best burger in town, we drove nearly 40 minutes from North County to check it out. We were excited to enjoy a drink and a nice lunch, but we never had the opportunity. We found the staff, especially the bartender, to be extremely rude - so rude that we left the pub before ordering a single item. If you're looking for a friendly pub to spend your time (and you're money), this is NOT the place to go!
