Tucked into an mini-strip mall along Kensington's main drag Adams Avenue, "The Vine" as locals call it hides an intimate, candle-lit lounge area and wine shop. Modern wood tables set against a wrap-around booth, plus a large U-shaped bar offer lots of communal seating. Music is soft, lighting is dim and the crowd is low-key and local: Usually neighborhood residents unwinding at the end of the day or seeking an alternative to a full-priced dinner down the street. Pizzas, cheese plates and paninis all run around $10 and are made to share.
