Bought a new car from Bob Zepeda. Review was for Bob Zepeda, haggle free pricing and was pretty much pain free purchase. Services here are just expensive.
Complete Fraudulent Experience.
If I could rate this business with a half star I would only because it holds the name Lexus. I took my 2003 RX300 in for regular service on May 3rd. I happen to take very good care of my vehicle and have only had to replace tires and brakes over the past 7 years. I was the second person to drop off my car that morning and the invoice claimed it would be ready by 10:00AM. I'm a patient person, so I waited until 2:00PM to inquire on its status. Once the service person was tracked down, I was told the car was finished, however, they were waiting for the "inspection report." When he called me back, he said my vehicle was in need of a new transmission gasket pan and right side axle seal due to leaking transmission fluid. I was given a quote of $580.
Already knowing that many dealerships are pricey with their estimates, I chose not to have the items replaced. When I picked up my vehicle, I was presented with a colorful packet of the service done and their "pass/fail" findings. Color photographs were even provided of the under carriage of some random Lexus car showing the transmission gasket pan and axle seal.
I called another auto service business closer to my home and asked for an estimate for the described work recommended by Lexus Kearny Mesa. They said they could get me original Lexus parts and quoted me $403. Needless to say, I was elated at the prospect of saving $177.
I dropped off my vehicle at the auto shop Friday, May 7th. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from their office manager. I held my breath as I prepared for the worse. He told me, "There is absolutely nothing wrong with your car." There is a light layer of dust on the pan gasket and axle seal, but no leak or damage. I was stunned by this news. When I went in to pick up my vehicle, it was still raised up on the floor hoist. Steve wanted to show me exactly what Lexus was referring to. I saw it with my own eyes! It also provided the answer to why I never saw any fluid on my garage floor.
I expressed my complete shock and utter disgust over almost being taken for $580 by Lexus Kearny Mesa. I was thrilled and grateful to know there were still honest, hard working, ethical businesses still around! Had I taken my vehicle into the second business for the regular service, I also would have saved an additional $100.
I am so stunned, disappointed and sickened by what almost happened to me. I worked hard to obtain my Lexus, which I love. $580 may be a drop in the bucket to some, but hard working people should be able to expect honest, dependable service. I do not appreciate being taken advantage of, as I'm sure you don't either.
Oh, and if you live close to Ramona, I wholeheartedly suggest RAE Automotive Service Company Inc. at 415 9th Street. They are my heroes!
Poor referral service. I was referred to United Stereo who damaged the body my car during installation and also the alarm installed did not work and caused more damage so I had to repir the damage and remove the alarm as it cannot be compatible with my alarm. I was referref by this dealer to irreputable United Stereo in Vickers St!!!
