Delicious chicken wings! I know it
might be strange to come to a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant hoping to eat some delicious fried chicken wings, but this place has one of the best I've had. Butter-fried and topped with garlic and hot peppers, the inside is moist and the outside is nice and crispy. They may be a bit on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion. The other stuff on the menu are not bad either. I usually get pho, and while it may not be the best, its definitely good.

Yummy vietnamese food for good prices!.
Phuong Trang has great vietnamese food and although I didn't know what to expect, it turned out to be a great restaurant. In convoy you have a lot of options to choose from when eating, but this place gets packed. It has lots of options for vegetarians as well. Our party ordered vegetarian spring rolls, regular spring rolls, tofu with lemongrass and hot pepper, beef cube steak with fried rice, a beef pho dish, and chicken with lemon grass. I loved the tofu...even though i thought i wouldn't. It was crispy and flavorful. I also really recommend the beef cube steak and fried rice. All the food was tasty and inexpensive and service was not bad. I would go back here next time I am in san diego definitely :)

Healthy noodle soups and seafood specials top the menu at this busy, family-owned Vietnamese spot..
In Short
This inexpensive, hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant in the Convoy Plaza didn't stay a secret for long. Locals come here for lunch and dinner, indulging in the beef noodle soups, rice porridge, and hot pots of homemade chicken broth that are cooked at the table and served with vermicelli noodles. The simple dining room is accented with Vietnamese paintings on the walls and pots of live plants.

best vietnamese food.
They have the best Vietnamese food in town, and have authentic dishes that you can't find anywhere else in San Diego, like their catfish. The place gets packed (and for good reason), so they must be doing something extremely right! If you go, try other Vietnamese food other than pho, because they have so much more good Vietnamese food that you can try. Every Vietnamese place has pho, but Phuong Trang has a lot more than what just any other place has - just ask all the storms of people who fill this place up on weekends.

Awesome food!.
Phong Trang's food is so delicious! Even when I'm full, I keep eating. I could basically eat it everyday and never get tired of it.

best authentic vietnamese in SD.
This is not a typical "pho joint". I come here for good, authentic vietnamese food that is kind to my wallet. They serve dishes that my mom used to cook for us at home, but a little bit better sorry mom :( Whenever I'm in the mood for good home cooking, I ordered their Ca Kho (catish sauteed in fish sauce) and Canh Chua Tom (sour soup w/ shrimp). I usually take my family here whenever they're in town to eat their Ca Nuong ( roasted catfish). This is the only restaurant in SD you can find this entree. It is so good!! The one thing that makes this restaurant a 4 instead of 5 star is service can be scarce when it gets busy. Overall not a big thing that'll keep me away from this place.

best vietnamese!!!!.
Congratulations for being the winner of this year's best vietnamese!!!! I've been going here for years & absolutely loves it. They have a huge menu of food to try & so far everything I ordered was great. I especially love the fact that there are pictures & descriptions of the items so I know exactly what I'm ordering. My definite favorites are the fresh spring rolls, egg rolls, house special lobster, stir-fried noodles with seafood, tofu w/ lemongrass, and the roasted catfish, which I can't find at any other vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. The casual prices are great so it's a place I frequent several times a month w/out breaking the bank. Their food portions are very generous & they're not shy about piling on the vegies for the rice paper wraps. The atmosphere is casual and service is fast, efficient, and not intrusive.
