In Short – This inexpensive, hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant in the Convoy Plaza didn't stay a secret for long. Locals come here for lunch and dinner, indulging in the beef noodle soups, rice porridge, and hot pots of homemade chicken broth that are cooked at the table and served with vermicelli noodles. The simple dining room is accented with Vietnamese paintings on the walls and pots of live plants.

They have the best Vietnamese food in town, and have authentic dishes that you can't find anywhere else in San Diego, like their catfish. The place gets packed (and for good reason), so they must be doing something extremely right! If you go, try other Vietnamese food other than pho, because they have so much more good Vietnamese food that you can try. Every Vietnamese place has pho, but Phuong Trang has a lot more than what just any other place has - just ask all the storms of people who fill this place up on weekends.

Phong Trang's food is so delicious! Even when I'm full, I keep eating. I could basically eat it everyday and never get tired of it.
