Commercialized Fast-Food Martial Arts. I have to wonder about the experience levels of many writing reviews here. Especially their experience in the Choy Li Fut system.

I found this school to be typical of what has become of martial arts in this country as a whole: The overhead of running a franchise results in a far lower level of instruction. The school ends up catering to the students to keep profits rolling in as opposed to requiring good standards.

I went here for one year having had 15 years experience in Chi Ling Pai and Choy Li Fut kung-fu. I was bitterly disappointed. Almost all of the "advanced" students were very weak in sparring, forms were sloppy and had no power. I have literally seen white sashes in my former Choy Li Fut school that could wipe the floor with the brown and black sashes here. For example, many of the forms have the number of moves literally cut in half because they might be "too difficult". Since when did someone threatening your family or mugging you care whether you were winded?

Basically, you pay for your sash, which I find immoral at best, and down right dangerous at worst. This gives people the delusion that they are prepared for and can handle a real conflict. I saw no such training to prepare one for the real world here; a point that was ever pressing in all of my training thus far.

This school is also incredibly proficient in draining your wallet for minimal instruction. They lead you to believe that you can train 6 days a week. What they don't tell you is that the group classes are virtually the same EVERY time and that the only time you may advance your knowledge is in your private lesson, once a week, for about 30-45 min. So it takes forever to complete a form regardless of your progress/skill level. What would normally take me 3-4 days would now take 2-3 months. Ridiculous.

Please, seek private instruction with a qualified instructor who still believes in standards and is not bound by the overhead a franchise incurs. Ask friends or family who have trained for a good amount of time (10 years is about an intermediate level student if 3-4 hours a day are devoted) for advice on what to look for and who to train with.

Like a family.... The thing I love the most about training about White Dragon Martial Arts? The amazing feeling of being apart of a group of people who love what they do. That's what I've found at this school. Not only are the instructors very skilled and knowledgeable, but they also go out of their way to make sure you don't get lost in the crowd. I really recommend White Dragon to anyone wanting to learn an amazing martial arts, from expert instructors, in the most professional and fun training enviornment around!

Great place to train. White Dragon Martial Arts is a great place to train. They have unlimited group classes so I can train up to six days a week. They also include private lessons for me each week so I have been able to reach all my goals. The instructors are friendly, professional and knowledgeable and the classes are all a lot of fun. You should come check it out.

Top Notch Martial Arts in Clairemont!. White Dragon Martial Arts has the best personal Instruction and trainers for any kind of program, whether it's kung fu, tai chi, kickboxing or grappling. The best place to break a sweat and improve yourself. You need to see whats goin' on at this place!
