I stumbled upon this quaint little
hidden gem when I was looking for lunch during my Jury duty break near the Vista Court Complex. Any escape from that monotony would be a good one! I took a right out of the parking lot because I remembered the short drive up Melrose from the 78 this morning only appeared to offer the same corporate crap. Luckily, the very first right hand turn I came to had a couple of options, one of which was Via Sicilia, advertising authentic Italian cuisine--and great Pizza. I was in. I just hoped I had time. Thankfully there was practically no travel time to factor in for my return to the courthouse.
Having never been there and knowing that a great Pizza takes time to make, I opted for one of the $6.99 blackboard Lunch Specials. There was a variety from Spaghetti to Sea Bass, all of which included a drink and a choice of soup or salad!! Seriously- for SEVEN BUCKS! I know, right?? I had the Lasagna with Marinara sauce and the Minestrone soup- It was tender and robust, filling and fulfilling! I cannot believe they can get away with these lunch prices. What a steal! Reviewing the regular menu, the prices are on par with any nice Italian place, but the lunch specials are off the chart amazing value! If you live, work, visit, or are like me- serving your civic duty- try this place out, It's a great little spot.
I can't wait to try the Pizza next!!
Editorial Review. Dine on deliciously authentic Sicilian and Italian cuisine at Via Silicia Ristorante Italiano in Vista, CA. The ambiance will make you feel like you are in a small town in Sicily.
Amazing pizza, lasagna and the best Chicken Marsala I've ever eaten. My husband and I went into Via Sicilia last weekend with our kids. We always like to try the new restaurants in Vista and we'd read about this restaurant in the North County Times. Our experience was excellent! The restaurant is really cute inside. The kids had pizza which they loved. I had the best Chicken Marsala I've ever had and my husband had lasagna. Good wine list too. Great addition to the neighborhood!
