Fried calimari. This place is a little too classy for my tastes (i.e. wallet), but I have admit their fried calimari bowl is pretty damn interesting, tasty and well priced. Keeps me dropping in at the bar occasionally. The staff is super nice, too

Unpredictable. After hearing rave reviews, we tried it out. We tried the brunch- it was unpredictable. Skip the seafood papardelle and eggs and potatoes (very salty) but don't miss out on the "cinnamon roll." It's really rich puff pastry w/ cinnamon and citris butter- not the traditional cinnamon roll most of us are used to. The place is cute, customer service is pretty good, but the prices are steep.

Great customer service and delicious food. What a find! I know this restaurants been around for quite some time now, however my wife and I have only recently discovered it being new to San Diego. We have both been to Laurel and Chive and think that this is our favorite out of the three restaurants operated by the same restaurant group. The service is friendly, casual and attentive and you can't go wrong with anything listed on the menu. At the time of this writing, they have a nice "early bird" special from 5~6pm worth checking out.

Specialty martinis and unique flavor combinations on the menu satiate a range of palates in the upscale, neighborhood space.. In Short
Tracy Borkam of Chive and Laurel Restaurant and Bar opened Kensington Grill 10 years ago and has since provided foodies with gourmet cuisine at affordable prices. Upscale California cuisine with global influences is served in a casual dining space, and the patio is ideal for warm weathered nights. An impressive happy hour, dinner menu, prix fixe and early bird meals provide endless variety. Favorites include the bouillabaisse, coriander crusted salmon or sesame crusted tofu.
