Tips for Discount Tire

Couldn't take care of a long time customer.... I've shopped at this particular location since 2001. Over the years I've come to own four cars, all of which had their tires fitted at this same location. I was under the impression that I had developed a genuine understanding and rapport with this establishment, however recently I was convinced otherwise.

I removed the wheels of one of my vehicles to examine the brake pads. I noticed that on one of my wheels the wheel studs had been stripped. The only way for wheels studs to become stripped and thus ruined is by improper tightening of the lug nuts. I called this Discount Tire and told them about the situation. They responded by saying that there was no way for me to prove that Discount Tire had ruined the studs because the car had not been at their shop for quite some time, and that anyone could have ruined the wheel studs. I told them that the last people to touch the wheels on this vehicles was their shop, but they clearly didn't want to help and refused to deal with me any further.

Now, I understand where these people are coming from. I managed a car-service center and I can understand how suspicious it would seem for a customer to claim that their car had been broken by them after some months had passed. But, I certainly am not just some "random" customer. I was a customer for over 10 years and spent thousands of dollars at this location, only to be turned away when they OBVIOUSLY damaged my vehicle. The cost of the new wheels studs? About $2 each, and I only needed three studs replaced. I was able to install the wheels studs on my own, without special tools. So, for $6 and normal tools Discount Tire could have taken care of a customer of over 10 years who spent THOUSANDS of dollars at their location. I guess Discount Tire is really great when it comes to making money off of you-taking care of you the morning after? Apparently not so much...
