Delicious food, competitive pricing.
I have been going here for a really long time. Yes, things have changed a bit with the new owner, but not that much. My biggest complaint is that they do not offer any "mock" meat. This is why I would chose another Thai place. And being a big fan of Thai tea, it bums me out when they do not make it right and it tastes either too sweet, or more often, too strong. I think the prices are the same as everywhere else. The half moons are amazing-sometimes I go just for those! All in all, it is a good Thai place and the servers that speak English are very helpful.
All the food I have had here, and my friends and family have had, is good to delicious.
Craptacular- bowel busting bummer. First of all, this is the worst Thai I have ever had. This is an absolute honest review of the quality of food I had at this restaurant. I ordered the red curry surprise with shrimp. My wife ordered the tom krap soup with chicken. The soup was watered down to a level of where you could actually taste the tap water mixing unevenly with the soup. Also it was flavored with lime juice from a bottle rather than fresh. Totally inedible and about 10 bucks-what a deal! The red curry fared no better with diluted flavors that were plain and cheap to say the least. I thought that Thai Time was kinda bad, but compared to Di Chan its a deal.
Local's favorite for affordably priced Thai food in a family-friendly atmosphere..
In Short
Tucked away in a rundown little strip mall, this cozy eatery serves up some of the best Thai food in town according to regulars who can't rave enough about the pad thai and the basil fried rice with chicken. Specialties include Bangkok seafood--a spicy mélange of scallops, mussels and shrimp--plus several flavorful curries. Spices are ranked on a 1-10 scale with five being fiery enough for most palates. Half moons, cute little fried won tons stuffed with potato, peas, carrots and yellow curry, are the most-requested appetizer, with angel wings (stuffed chicken wings) a close second.
Great food. service was borderline.. The food was great! The server was too slow and not very informative to what is good and what is not.
Best Thai food around.
Di- chan is delicious, the portions are huge and the service is great. I don't know what crawled up the other guys butt, but he needs to simmer down. This has got to be one of the better thai food places in san diego. I am thai food fan and eat a ton of it. Everything I've tried here has been great.
This place is great. GO THERE.
Bad food and horrible service. DiChan has new owners, and they are never there. I tried calling the new owners several times with no response to complain about the food and service. The food has changed and it's not as good as when Wit owned the place. The servers are horrible. We were there for lunch and almost ready to leave, when the waitress came to the table and asked us to leave. WE WILL NEVER EVER go back to DiChan again.
