“While the common areas are very nice and the service is very good the rooms are no.”
“Don't get me wrong, the hotel was clean the food was average at best but the prices were insanely high for what you get.”

Upscale hotel's comfortable rooms and modern business facilities appeal to both business and leisure travelers..
In Short
Soon after the first Hyatt hotel opened in Los Angeles in 1957, Hyatt hotels and resorts became known for their dramatic atrium lobbies and their ability to express local flavor. Rooms feature beds with Sealy brand mattresses and down comforters, flat-screen TVs with cable access, wireless Internet, iPod-adaptable alarm clock/radios, Starbucks coffee and Portico bath products. Travelers enjoy the convenience of hotel and airline check-in kiosks, fitness facilities, multiple business centers and ample meeting spaces.
After 10 days, I am not that impressed.
I attended SANS 2007 and spent 9 nights at this hotel. I have stayed in a wide variety of hotels and spa resorts across the U.S. and Europe. I found this hotel to be O.K. and extremely overpriced for the quality of the service or food. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was clean the food was average at best but the prices were insanely high for what you get. Laundry Service is flat out robbery, $52.00 for 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans and 2 casual shirts. The food, which I ate a lot of at various restaurants in the hotel and the surrounding area was nothing special, in fact I didn't have a single meal from the hotel that stands out at all. I also recall getting a happy hour beer (pint) for $8.50. Hamburgers, which were terrible for $16.00.
the rooms are clean and the bed was a bit hard. the AC worked so so as well. Shower water pressure was average. I can get a room of much better quality and more comfort in the heart of Europe with meals that you would dream about for 1/3 the price this hotel charges.
The location is really great. the gas Lamp district is a short walk, the Seaport Village shopping is cute, and also extremely over priced. The Midway and the Marine Museum are a short walking distance also a worthwhile adventure, and a good value. The House of Blues is about a 15 minute walk with a surprisingly reasonable admission price and has a decent beer selection at reasonable prices also. In fact it was cheaper to buy a ticket to Static-X and drink beer there than it was to sit in the boring hotel bar and drink 4 beers. There is a great beer emporium call the Yard House with 120 beer taps and half yards to drink, excellent food also. I also visited a place called Nicky Rotten?s, that is the place to go for a hamburger fix.
The West Coast's tallest waterfront hotel offers killer views, grand amenities and easy access to the city's top attractions..
