Been a long time customer of the Butcher Shop in San Diego, but had not visited in several months. Was given a gift certificate so decided to bring guests to lunch today.

Certificate required $50 purchase for $25 credit. Our bill was $49, so I left the waitress an extra dollar to make it $50 and a $15 tip. She returns the certificate and cash and says we did not spend $50 so we cannot use the gift card. I asked to add a coffee to go and she refused. What a dumb mistake. So, instead of a return customer with a memorable experience who left a 30% tip, she gets a $5 tip from a former customer who will not return. Hope someone in management reads this as in this economy that decision was absolutely imprudent.

Absolutely Wonderful! Awesome Atmosphere!. The food was amazing, great wine and champagne selection. Try the chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert! I highly recommend the Prime Rib steak dinner. The prices are great for the amount of food you receive. The service was wonderful, and I was impressed by the ambiance of the whole restaurant. I will definitely return and you should try it!
